    Hello,

Would there be a way to route Absynth to be able to record it into Ableton LIVE.

LIVE does not recognize Absythn's VST plugin.

    Does anybody know?

    Thank you,.

If you're using Windows-yes,there is a way.Go to www.webmassiva.com and download energyXT.There's a VST effect version called energyXTE,and there's a module you can download called MIDIXT.MIDIXT will pass MIDI info to Absynth.
Load energyXTE into an effect bin of an unused track, and load MIDIXT into it.Then load Absynth into energyXTE and connect it up.Try the arpeggiator:)
The demo's functional except for saving, and the registration's only $40.A great toy.

What if I am a Mac user. Is there a way?

    Hello Ewistrand,

Thank you so much for your reply.
I knew there has to be a way.
Unfortunately I am not runnig a PC based system.

Perhaps you also know of a way to to this with Mac. If not I hope to find a solution.

    Best Regards,

I know fxpansion's coming up with a VST/ReWire adapter;it's a part of the VST/RTAS one that's just around the corner.
    Other than that,sorry.

Are you OS X then? Do you have a multiple out soundcard? If you do. you can send Absynth's audio to output 3/4 and route that to input 1/2 in Live.

    diestra -

check out plogue bidule at http://www.plogue.com/. it's still technically in beta but it's solid, and it's free. i don't have all of the information in front of me as far as the steps to set it up, but do a search on this forum. there have been plenty of threads on the topic. it works with both mac and pc platforms, i believe.

i have been recording absynth into live by using bidule's rewire functionality. basically, bidule works as a rewire "bridge", linking the two programs. assuming you have bidule installed on your machine correctly, you should be able to see it from within live and assign it to one of your rewire channels on any of the channel inputs. as far as i know, you can use plogue bidule with any vst. it takes a short while to configure it to your system, but it works beautifully.

hope this points you in the right direction.

PLOGUE BIDDLE is the Solution for LIVE & DP 4

    Hello Everyone,

Thank you for the wonderfull tips and knowledge each of you shared.

Thanks to you, I I have found the solution to connect Absynth and DP4.

There is and incredible collective source of incredible resources in this forum.

As for NI... I must say that I am disappointed with the speed all updates are released, althought I still believe in you.

    Check this out...

    http://www.refusesoftware.com/freeware.html

Look for the Ugly VSTi app. It will allow you to record Absynth into Live. I know it works in OS 9 through a MAX/MSP rewire channel but I'm not sure about OS X yet (due to rewire availability in OS X version of MAX/MSP).

    Good Luck,

    Jason

I tried the Ugli VSTi to record absynth via rewire directly in LIVE. First launching LIVE then UV (and vice-versa) and absynth. Live gets midi in, but no visible input data. Pressing the record button, the wave-display was empty. I tried rewire (only Reason/Rebirth channels are accessible) and Live in, but no go. Can anybody help me?

    Thanks

Plogue Bidule does work great even though it is a beta. I can now easily use Absynth or Reaktor Session through the Plogue Bidule ReWire connection to Ableton Live. I got so fed up with MOTU DP 4 that I now use this as an alternative for running softsynths.

It would be even better if NI software supported ReWire, then we wouldn't need any VSTi or AU emulators when using Ableton Live. Why doesn't NI support ReWire? Is the licensing cost from Propellerheads too great to be worth it?
