I would really love to see the otherworldly sound of Absynth combined with the innovative control possibilities of the iPad. Imagine the sonic possibilities that this would entail!

In the spirit of Absynth, however, the control surface should be as innovative as the sounds of Absynth itself. For example, the controls should be accessible enough for the user to understand, but they should also give the user a radical amount of control over the sound itself. Also, the user should be able to configure the controls in anyway he/she wants and for any parameter he/she desires.

I am posting this not only as a new idea, but to start of a conversation. I would like to see NI take notice of the iPad and innovate with it. Feel free to pile on the ideas and suggestions in this thread!

Yes, indeed, but I'm not just talking iPad controlling Absynth. I mean an entire version of Absynth itself that would take place on the iPad - completely with its own set of controls. Secondly, the controls themselves would be far more than mere knobs, faders, and x-y pads controlling the parameters. I am talking sort of a cross between those and the Jitter interface controlling everything from the lfo's to the pitch (complete with polyphony of course).

Furthermore, I would imagine this iPad version being able to interface with the current version of Absynth, as the iPad would not have room for all of the included sounds Absynth 5 currently has.

I think NI must create ipad interfaces for all their products. From synths to traktor.

This is the next logical step in midi controlling. Seriously... I will never buy a midi controller again except for some good weighted keys. The ipad can handle all your knobs, faders, buttons, etc. And it's 100% customizable...

I would even pay for that.

whilst touch screen is quite funky, you can't beat dials and sliders, especially the modern ones which light up the current settings, so you know where you are in a patch
