Hi, I'm using FM8 as my main instrument, but i am using Absynth Fx as an FX unit so i can modulate the fequency filter envelope.

The trouble is, is that i can't seem to trigger the start of the filter envelope with each touch of a note on my midi keyboard, and instead, it just continues through the song arrangement, not re-triggering with every note hit

When in use Absynth 5 as the main instrument, this is not a problem, and i have the mode on sustain and it just triggers every time. This is what i want to happen with the Absynth FX.

    Thanks for your time.

I don't think the FX is designed to respond to MIDI in the same fashion; the envelopes are not triggered by MIDI, but I believe you can still use the Macro controls.

What you could try is experiment with the Audio Mod in the Performance tab. I'm not sure of the specifics for your envelope, but for example you could create a 'Audio In' Osc module, then a relevant Filter module. In the Perform>Audio Mod tab, Set the Mod Source to the Filter module, add the relevant parameters/lag (e.g. cutoff 80%) and adjust the Gain/Attack/Decay to taste. Hope that helps.

Do you have "polyphony" set to 1 per chance? If so, set it higher. Although the FX path naturally isn't polyphonic, in order to re-trigger the envelopes, the FX-Absynth needs to be set to poly.

Wrong! With "Auto trigger" set to off, it should behave exactly like the instrument version.
