As per topic. In fact none of the plugins I have will load in as an insert. Absynth4 FX, BIIFX, FM8FX, Pro-53FX and ReaktorFX (and the associated Surround vst's).

Using Cubase 4, if I try and use one of the aforemention FX on a track insert, nothining happens (occasionally on a brand new project, they *may* work, but more often than not they just don't load).

Wasn't sure which product to post this in since it seems to be a common problem with most of the products I got with Komplete.

    Hi Joakim,

    Win XP SP2 & Cubase 4.03

It's strange, it is like it isn't even attemting to load them, no hourglass, no pause, just closes the menu on selection.

This has even happened once or twice with the Guitar Rig 3 plugin, although that does seem to work most of the time. The main problem is with the FX/Surround plugins of the other NI synths.

The synths themselves mostly load with no other issues, both as plugins and as standalones (although there is the K3 issue with Spectrasonic plugins).

    Thanks.

addressing just the absynth issue :

what version of absynth4 are you running ?...
( i'm not sure what version ships w/ komplete )

if you are not running the latest version , 4.0.2.011 , you need to update ...

    after updating , look in your plug-in folder , and locate ' Absynth4FX2x8.dll ' ...
    try loading this ...

iirc , this update addressed problems w/ cubase reading
    the absynth plug-ins ...

    Thanks aBnormal,

It is the latest version, 4.0.2.011.

I've located the Absynth4FX2x8.dll file in my plugin folder, buth ow do I load that DLL directly?

The main thing is that it will work *sometimes*; if I load it or any of the plugins into a new and empty project then they generally work. It is when I try and load them into an established project that they don't seem to want to load.

i don't have cubase , so i cannot comment on loading procedures ...

my pardon if i'm covering a basic here , of which you are aware :
any .dll that contains 'FX' in its nomenclature is an 'effect' plug-in , for processing audio ...
if you are attempting to load absynth , as a synth , to process midi data ,
you should be loading the 'Absynth4Stereo.dll ' ...

HI. I am having similar problems I think...

I understand that 'FX' means an 'effect' plug-in for processing audio. For some reason, though, when I load Absynth 4 as a plug-in [instrument] on a Logic 8 audio instrument channel, Absynth (and all my other NI instruments as far as I can tell) show up as 'FX', not the reglular instrument plug-in as they should be.

Is this problem directly related or should I start a new post? Is this a Logic 8 issue? I've never seen this happen before...

    Thanks!
