Pardon my acronyms but I'm pissed off; WTH is this BS:

I'm working away on something, call up my Kontakt 3 window which already has an instrument loaded, go to load another and after loading some samples, K3 shows me a popup in it's reddish logo design asking me to either Buy the software or Quit! "Buy" takes me to the NI online shop, and "Quit" causes Nuendo to crash. Sweet.

This is totally legit software installed on a totally legit system. I really resent it when copy protection screws with my workflow.

    Has anyone seen this?

You should call NI tech support on this one. Once you've verified that you are the legitimate owner (which is something that we users can't do on the forum, for obvious reasons) then they should be able to help you figure out why it's giving you that error.

My hunch: you may want to reinstall Kontakt. It probably has some checks inside it that look for files that have been manipulated that shouldn't be manipulated, and therefore it thinks it's a kracked version. Maybe your copy got slightly corrupted somehow. In any case, that's why I suggest a reinstall of Kontakt might fix it.

I assume Service Center shows Kontakt as properly authorized?

Yes it's authorized. And the weird thing is that I can use K3 generally without problems. Just recently when I've tried to load several multi's while using Nuendo I occasionally get this message and the session's dies. I guess I better kontact support... thanks.

    Hi Q,

I get the same message when Kontakt3 isn't able to load the samples...
Sometimes I get an error message (not enough memory available)
But sometimes I get this "Close or Buy" window!
In my setup Kontakt3 seems to be unable to load about 1 Gb of Samples in to Ram.
And if there are other programms running even less.
(I once received an error message while loading the firsth Mb's)

Thanks Michiel. I haven't been using Kontakt for a while and I was kind of expecting the kinks to be worked out by now, but after trying to use K3 for 2 days, I'm already thinking of pounding the computer in with a sledgehammer...

I can't believe how crap it works. Output assignment is a crap shoot, BS announcements when the problem just seems to be not enough RAM, accessing a sample directory by accident and waiting for 3 minutes while the folder is being read with no way to get out of it, and it's no better with K2.

I have to say that I've been a very happy NI user in the past. What's going on at NI? Or is it NI? The fact that we're all still using 32-bit OSes and don't have access to more than 3 gigs of RAM is ridiculous when you consider that some single instruments weigh in at 4 gigs. We could blame all these problems to an industry in transition, but in the end it's my time and my life being wasted.

Whatever... sorry, I'm just so fed up.

This happened to me for the second time during rehearsal two days ago. I am running Kontakt 3 in KORE 2 and after loading a performance no sound was produced. So I opened up Kontakt (which is the only plugin in that performance) and got confronted with that "buy me" sign. After restarting KORE and loading the performance again everything was fine.

This really scares me with an upcoming tour in 5 weeks. The laptop on which this happend was reinstalled just a couple of weeks ago (NI KOMPLETE -> KORE 2 -> All updates) so I do not believe that a reinstall solves this problem.

I will see if I can reproduce this somehow over the weekend.

I couldn't reproduce it so far. Meanwhile I also updated to the latest Service Center and KORE 2.0.4. Fingers crossed.

Well, it seems I got the same problem. Normally Kontakt 3 works just fine, but on some occasions I get the same message.

I too have updated to servicecenter 2 and there seems everything
    fine and registered.

What gets quite on my nerves is that this is so random.
Sometimes I can work without this hiccup for days and than it happens again. With large projects where I have loaded tons of samples in kontakt 3 this is inacceptable. It's wasting my time, to reload the whole project again.

I sincerely hope there will be a statement fro NI regarding this big issue, or better -> a solution.

    So, any news ?
