    Hi there,

I bought Komplete 8 ultimate, however lost the hard drive when I moved countries.

Does anyone know if I can download the demo versions from the native instruments website and activate them using my service centre? If so, are all the kontakt libraries and all plugins available?

I've emailed NI and it will cost me £100 to get a replacement hard drive, £100 which I'd rather spend on more studio gear.

    Thanks in advance.

    Conrad.

Although I have never tried it, you should be able to download the demo versions and then activate them. It would be highly unlikely that products with large amounts of data content would include all that content in the demo versions. For example, Kontakt 5 and Kontakt 5 Player are actually the same identical software. However, Kontakt 5 also comes with the Kontakt 5 Library, while the Kontakt 5 Demo page only allows you to download 185 MB of demo content. Same software, but different content.

I think your best chance would be to find someone who owns K8 Ultimate and see if they will let you borrow the K8U hard drive. Alternatively, perhaps you can find a K8 Ultimate owner who is upgrading to K9 Ultimate. They could simply give you their K8U drive.
