In 1.2.1 it does not seem possible to attribute an LED output to a given button, because the 'Type of Controller' selection is greyed out until a button/slider is actually assigned. If you assign a given button, there seems to be no way of changing the controller type to LED and Interaction Mode to Output.

Previously, you could simply duplicate the desired control setting, then change the Type of Controller to LED, so that clicking a button performed the first action, as well as lighting up the corresponding LED.

    Any ideas appreciated!

    Let me reiterate...

I love NI and TSP for the pleasure I've got from previous versions, but I'm finding it hard to believe, that after intensive Sunday mode searching, there is no help manual update to explain the significant changes in midi controller settings. FUNDAMENTAL changes that are explained nowhere, except in RainerH's new payable TS bible?

Hopefully, I'm being a complete noob about this and one of you is going to point me in the right direction ;) Thanks in advance if you do!

Well ... it's quite straightforward. in the controler manager, you have 2 buttons:

Add In and Add Out. Add an output to control the LEd you want. Usually, you should havee a Midi map provided with our controller's handbook telling you which CC you should send to have a fixed light, or blinking (or colour change in some cases).

I agree that previous method was a bit easier in some cases, but I realised that in some cases, Led output was not linked at all to the midi CC of the button the other way.

    Thank you

    Thanks for the advice.

There's one piece of important information I "discovered" trying to get this right:

If you try mapping an LED straight after the control element (button, knob etc.), then you must remember to...

TURN OFF THE "LEARN" BUTTON ON THE JUST MAPPED CONTROL ELEMENT OR THE LED WILL SEEM NOT TO WORK

Of course, if I'd read the correctly updated 1.3 (for TSP 1.2x) manual version, I would have seen the warning!

This one piece of crucial info could have saved me hours this weekend... my fault for using my bad midi mapping habits from version 1.1 :-O

Learn from my mistakes peeps, learn from my mistakes ;-)
