Hello, Composers and musicians in NI Forum.

I'm a beginner of NI products and I'm studying MIDI sequencing by myself. So I have a bunch of questions which I cannot solve by myself.

I'm using Logic Pro X for my DAW, and using a Komplete 11 Ultimate and Exs 24 for my writing tool for now. I'm writing a musical theatre songs and film score primary, so lots of time I have to use string sounds.

However, when I use both Kontakt factory strings and Komplete 11 String essential, I realized that there is no option to control the vibrato. In order to make a string sound real, I really need to control the vibrato. Other feature such like Reverb, Pan, Dynamic, etc I can adjust. But I'm looking for control Vibrato. (For all instrument include strings and also winds, brass)

I think both Kontakt factory strings and Komplete 11 String essential already have a own vibrato sound in sample. Because when I played it, I can hear the vibrato sound. But somehow it's sampled already so I think there is no way to remove or edit it. So is there a any way to remove or edit that vibrato? That'll be really helpful to me.

If I can't do that in Komplete.5 samples, then is there any way to make vibrato sound generally? and also I want to know the way to put vibrato control in both Pitch band and after touch.

My other question is how to make glissrando sound between two musical note. As you know, in many of string music, we can hear some gliss/port sound. Seems it's so hard to make it if you don't have a expensive instrument such like VSL.

My final question is, is there any good guitar VST in NI? I want to make solo A.guitar piece and also want to write solo E.guitar line. But when I check Komplete.5 Guitar samples (i.e Scarbee Funk Guitarist, Session Guitarist) I realized that these samples have only "LOOP" sounds not individual solo sounds. So I can only edit loop sounds to make a music. So I wonder NI have a solo Guitar samples for both Acoustic and Electronic Gt.

Thank you so much to read my long even really basic questions. But if you help me, it'll be so so helpful to me to study MIDI sequencing. Thank you !!

You should check out some other libraries that offer what you need. String libraries in Komplete aren't as fully-featured as 3rd party libraries by Spitfire, Orchestral Tools, etc. and guitars fall very short from Orange Tree Samples guitars, for example.

Hello, so there is no way to cut off and edit vibrato? I read some articles that if I ajdust some LFO in NI, it possibly can. Would you please explain about that??

If samples already have vibrato as part of them then, no, there's no way to do it. If the samples have no vibrato whatsoever, then you can apply LFO, but it WILL sound a bit fake.

However, NI Symphony Series - Strings Essentials, does have vibrato and non-vibrato samples, so I would advise reading the manual of that library to learn how to operate it fully. I am not sure if you will be able to crossfade from non-vib to vib, though. Doesn't seem to be possible. This is better done in other libraries.
