From reading through the thread below it appears that you can adjust the pad sensitivity and velocity scaling for different templates.

    http://www.native-instruments.com/forum_us/showthread.php?t=87633

how would i go about doing this?

I would like to change the settings so that the pads behave in the usual way when I am using Maschine in midi control mode using ones of the templates.

At the moment I have to really bash the pads to get the desired sound in midi control mode.

Can someone please point me in the right direction : )

Did you try searching the manual for the controller editor?

it's just on the right side under the template list, the pad modes...soft, hard, linear etc... at the controller editor window..works in realtime though

Load Controller Editor, make sure Maschine is selected in the top left, then on the right side there's three tabs: Templates, Pages, Assign,

Templates tab at the bottom lies yonder pad velocity curve settings.

Mind you they do not match the stand alone curves very well.

Mind you in any velocity setting velocities under 10 do not trigger. Pressure sensitivity does however.

If you need velocities under 10 you can use standalone or vst and on your group enable "pads to midi notes" and assign each sound in the group to a midi note.

That's the only work around I know of.
