Adjusting Tempo from Keyboard

According to the manual:

Adjusting Tempo from the Keyboard
To set the tempo from the keyboard:
1. Press and hold SHIFT
2. While holding SHIFT push and turn the Control encoder.
→ The tempo adjusts in increments of one.​

So...what is the "Control encoder". It's not the 4-D knob as that controls the master volume. ​

 

It is that controller. You need to PUSH it down so it clicks then turn while holding it down.

Note that this applies only when using the keyboard with Komplete Kontrol standalone. I do not believe you can change the host DAW tempo in case that is your question.

 

That's the problem when searching the manual and jumping directly to the text I have above. I missed the important context you noted which exists on the page previous regarding standalone mode. Bit of a miss but not a deal breaker. Hopefully this enhancement is in a future update.

On Komplete Kontrol S-Series MK1, hold down and twist the Rotary Encoder whilst holding SHIFT to adjust the Tempo. This applies to the clock tempo in Komplete Kontrol standalone.

On Komplete Kontrol S-Series MK2, hold down the TEMPO button and twist Knob 1 (the value is shown on screen) to set the tempo of the clock in Komplete Kontrol standalone, and Maschine standalone. This button is also used for TAP TEMPO in Logic Pro X and Ableton Live.

HI Adil, I've just bought a KK S61 MK2 for use with Cubase 9.5. I've installed everything but come across two issues I am unable to resolve:
1. TEMPO - Does not light up and cannot be changed using the keyboard?
2. Pre-Click Recording creates a blank part before the stuff you aim to record, meaing you have to cut off pieces before the bar?

Any help will be great as I like the keyboard but this stuff is starting to annoy me.

1. It is not currently possible to set the tempo of Cubase projects from Komplete Kontrol keyboards - this is a limitation imposed within Steinberg's SDK.
2. Please check Cubase's recording preferences - it may be possible to adjust this.
