Advanced Mappings

    Hello All,

    Just got a new controller and am looking to do some advanced mappings for some button presses.

    Basically I have four channels on my controller to handle each deck in Traktor

    To avoid having to switch layers on the controller, Id like to have one Button that can cycle through turning off and on FX Units 1 and 2 (Maybe even three and four later) so that I can then use the knobs to change paramaters based on which FX unit is active and on...

    I can only assume its through some tricky use of Modifiers but if anyone has some examples or ideas of how to go about this I would greatly appreciate it.

    Thanks!

    Ok reread and figured I needed to clarify a bit more..

    One button, will FX Select cycle incrementally through the list of available FXs (I have three) Each time that FX changes the LED will change its color to represent that currently selected effect and turn it on as well

    For some reason I cannot get the effect to turn on after changing its selection with just that one button push, nor get the LEDs to change color on a different effect.

    Im sure this has to do with my limited knowledge of Modifiers

    Ok so ive come to the conclusion there is no real way to honestly switch and effect and turn it on with the same single stroke button push simply because of how Traktor handles midi messages.

    So while ive conceded to that (and even if i snapshot my effects I get artifacts in play back if i cycle through effects to fast ::I run a Quad Core, 20gb ram machine... its traktors issue no the machines) I cannot turn on these effects at the same time as changing them (which is probably a good thing for my sets forcing me to manually turn them on if i happen to jog the wet/dry fader a bit) I am still now trying to cycle through LED colors on my Xone k2 controller.

    I can get the LED to clearly light up RED when an effect is on and off when its cycled back to the 0 modifier state... but even with a modifier setup to increment, and then LED outputs set to trigger particular colors based on the Modifier Value.. they are not changing..

    Perhaps I am doing something wrong and clearly dont get this concept?

    THank you for the link, but it really didnt assist me to much, not interested in grouping my effects which is how his controls based on tons of multi layered shifts can work.

    While I believe simply having knobs assigned to FX 1 no matter what is active it will change that. My issue I guess comes down to the modifiers related to trying to get my LEDs to cycle color for representation of which effect is active.

    For me the easiest way to switch effect is to have dedicated buttons to switch effects e.g. I have FX 1 + 2 set to group and 3 + 4 are advanced.
    I have dedicated buttons to switch the effects. 1 will switch all the effects to the settings needed for the gratification mapping and another will set the effects to a different group of effects (mainly the new effects).
    Controling the effects is done the normal way after that with dedicated knobs on the X1 and F1.
    Regarding your Leds.. did you add the monitor state?

    Use 'FX Store Preset' command for this purpose.

    I really don't understand how you want units to behave? Can you give step by step input on what you're trying to accomplish or some short video of what you got so far?

    I sure can help you with modifiers and there's no need for 'Send Monitor State' if modifier outputs are set properly.

    Let me know,

    Ahhh Been away for awhile, busy busy. Hopefully this will bump my thread back up there to the top!

    Anyways, with more research I believe ive figured out how to do what I am seeking in two different ways (One requires I use modifiers)

    Both are not functioning correctly at this point for some reason.

    For my FX selector, I have a button that cycles through the available FX i have activated (3 in my case).. So now I am trying to set an ouput with

    Effect 1 Selector -> Note(red) g#1 -> Controller Range: 1 - 1 Invert Blend Off

    Effect 1 Selector -> Note(orange) g#4 -> Controller Range: 2 - 2 Invert Blend Off

    Effect 1 Selector -> Note(Green) g#7 -> Controller Range: 3 - 3 Invert Blend Off

    LED is off on no effect, then it cycles to red, then to orange, but turns off again and doesnt set the led green. It cycles back to no effect, then goes on again for red orange etc..

    For my efffect knob selector, I have a button that switches between knob 1 and 2 on the effect, this is affected by using modifiers to tell the encoder what effect knob to change.

    My goal was to change the color between Red and ORange based on which knob it was changing.

    I attempted this by

    Modifier 4 Out -> m4 = 0 -> Red Note -> Controller Range 0 0
    Modifier 4 Out -> m4 = 1 -> Orange Note -> Controller Range 1 1

    LEd glows red, push button light turns orange, and remains orange and wont go back to red... Ive also tried just leaving the controller range alone at 0 7... and 0 1

    Any ideas or help is appreciated! Thanks

    Did you really claim to have 20gb RAM in post #3?
