I performed an update for the Kore 2 driver, and then the update for 2.1. During the 2.1 update, it asked me to insert the disc that came with my software. I did so, but it couldn't find a driver. I selected the option to search online, but no driver was found. I completed the rest of the install, and now my Kore 2 controller is no longer recognized. I tried installing the Kore 2 drive a second time, but it doesn't help.

    What should I do?

Is the Kore v2.1 only for Kore v2 Controllers? Or, will it add functionality for the Kore v1 Controller with it's different set of buttons? Thanks, CS.

The video I watched said it adds functionality to the Kore 1 controller as well.

    ?

The 2.1 installer shouldn't be asking you for the DVD. I'd uninstall/reinstall from scratch if I were you.

Before you do that, though- try shutting down your system. Start back up without the controller plugged in, and then plug in the controller once you're completely up and running.

Thank you. I uninstalled both Kore and the controller driver and reinstalled. The controller was working again. Then, when I installed the latest patch, it once again asked for my Kore 2 disc. This time I cancelled and again, the Kore 2 controller was non-functional. On a hunch I went to the Kore 2 disc and reinstalled the controller drive and its functioning again. I then used Service Center and tried to install the controller driver update. It offers only Repair or Uninstall. I tried the repair option. My Kore controller is still functional, but Service Center continues to report that an update is available. Ugh.

I guess I can live with this. However, all of my installed Sound Packs are no longer working. They show in the database, but the samples cannot be found on disk. I have tried to repair the sounds manually, but wow, I will be here for another six hours. Why is this so hard?
    ---
Reinstalling the Sound Packs seems to be fixing the problem. Not sure if the sounds were actually missing (perhaps they were deleted when I uninstalled Kore?) or it was just an issue with mapping the database to the file system. In any event, that part if fixed.

Thank you ew. A reinstall was the only fix that seemed to work.

Now if I could just determine why Service Center persists in saying my controller driver needs to be updated, I would be golden :)

    I tried this (Windows Vista 32-bit SP1):
    Unplugged the controller (V2).
Uninstalled the controller driver and kore 2.
Reinstalled version 2.0.0 from the DVD - didn't install the controller driver.
    Ran the 2.1.0 update.
    Rebooted.
    Plugged in the controller.

I still experienced the same message: "please insert the disc that came with your Kore 2 controller"

Running the standalone 2.0.10.1 installer seemed to result in the same condition.

In desperation, I ended up using 7-zip to expand the contents of the Kore Controller driver 2.0.10.1.exe into a new directory, then used Windows search to copy all the files into a single flat directory.

When the "please insert..." message came up I pointed it at my flattened content directory and it managed to proceed and complete the driver installation.

I know this won't be an approved install method but it might help someone else who has the same issue.
