...no, I'm not comparing apples and oranges - I just know how my tools work or I try to make them work! This is complete bollocks, both are samplers and both can be used for that purpose. If the only thing preventing one from using Kontakt is the lack of an audio input to sample directly into it, instead of dragging the sample into it, then I'm really sorry for everyone, who isn't able to use his $400 plug-in.

That's called a workaround. Not a feature.

Note that personally I don't quite care about RT time stretching.

I'd be more concerned about the lack of stereo to mono feature for instance and dozens of other puzzling missing features

There is no modern software that doesn't do this, even iPad apps do this. And you know this. If you don't then you can do the research and see how far behind Maschine is in this regard. I'm not doing that for you. But I don't think you're really interested anyway...

...and playing on words is pointless & splitting of hairs. If I don't find one feature in a product, but if I have something that could do the trick, it's not working around, it's using what you have. On the other hand it's rather naive, dwelling on that x or y is missing, if one can solve the problem. Once you've set up such a Kontakt group, for instance - because most likely you will use more than one sampler instrument in a project - it doesn't make much of a difference, if you're loading the sampler plug-in or your Kontakt template.

Do you have Reaktor 6? The Stereo Level Block has a mono switch & polarity inversion - you can use it like a plug-in. See, it's these things I'm talking about - but we don't get to this point, because of these stupid arguments here. Or there are, in fact, a number of freeware plug-ins like this: https://www.plugin-alliance.com/en/products/bx_solo.html

You can call it a workaround or using a plug-in - it's semantics. In practice, it works.

I hope, something like this might work for you in the mean-time. I'd also like to have these options directly on a Maschine Sound, but until I get that, it would be most unfortunate, if I would let one missing switch become an epic problem.
...yeah. I mean, it's so easy setting up a template Maschine group with Kontakt and routing the 16 Sounds to 16 prepared (and maybe even premapped) Kontakt instruments and - boom - realtime time-stretching. Time to move on. I can understand, that someone, who doesn't have Komplete, is missing this feature, but quite a lot of people here have Komplete. Another example: round-robins - people can use Battery for that. And if it'll be in Maschine one day - all the better, but until that day I can use this instead of venting all the time. That would be smart (or mature).

Maschine is far from perfect. So are the instruments of Komplete. And the interaction between both is nowhere near perfect (hell - yeah!!!). As is the host integration. But there are ways to make some things work, there are a lot of options available for a number of use-cases. But instead of talking about that (or asking specific questions in the forum), it's that constant bitching most of the time. Which also prevents Maschine to get better - if a good portion of the user base doesn't know, how to use the product (and in music production it's always about using something in conjunction with another tool), then it will also have an effect on the development, because people might ask the wrong questions. It can be seen here and on other NI fourms.

Anyway - sometimes I wonder, if some folks rather have pointless arguments on a forum, instead of actually improving something by finding practical solution together. But what do I know - maybe it's because it's Sunday and we all have too much time on our hands.
I don't know man.
Telling people who have already invested hundreds of pounds in an item where rtts (and many other things), was promised YEARS AGO, to invest yet more in Battery, Kontakt etc is... I don't know, but it doesn't sit right with me.

Re moaning and workarounds, (And this isn't too anyone in particular):
Been there done that.

I just find it strange that people argue against improving things that would benefit everyone. And why, as a group of people with a collective interest in improving Maschines features, we can't live and let live. Eg if you don't like the frikking thread, don't read it, reply to it, insult members that are unhappy, moan that people aren't just getting on and using the software etc. Most of us are getting on and using it, I've been on the beta for a long time, I use a lot of other software. I like Maschine and know it well. I have spent thousands in the NI ecosystem, and couldn't give up Maschine even if I wanted to because it's tired to other NI things I have.
I have a right to voice my complaints and so do you, and if I get tired of hearing you voice then I can avoid you. Everyone else can do the same.
The reason it seems as if there's always moaning (and there's not that much), is because as Widowmaker said, people have been asking for record mutes etc for many, many years, and it hasn't been done 8 YEARS LATER.

WAY I SEE IT IF YOU WANT TO COMPLAIN ABOUT THAT FAIR ENOUGH.

Anyone that thinks differently, it's easy; just look away... But to make out people don't have a right to be p!ssed is ignorant. Especially when we've all had our grievances with various bits of software over the years. And many have made the very same complaints within this very forum. To moan at others for not moving on, and sticking around yourself to moan at them instead of moving on to a thread you like is... I don't know, but it doesn't sit right.o_O

This I'm sure is another source of sheer frustration for many users. I'm relatively new to Maschine and Komplete but already I have found so many instances of duplication and inconsistencies on how the various components do or do not like to talk to each other that you can only hope and pray that the length of time taken to release something akin to what was 'promised' is that they are going to streamline everything and get everything playing nicely with each other.............well maybe.....er ..perhaps....er ...possibly.............................er....................

For those that say that using Kontakt is a solution please buy a license for me. Either that or stop saying using Kontakt is a solution.

I could play that game too and say:
“you know what is also a $400 solution for a proper sampler? move to Ableton Live”

That’s not a solution, that’s giving up.

I stop moaning when they deliver what they promised. I think thats a fair deal.
Although it probably means you have to bear my moaning for a long time. Sorry.

Native Instruments hidding his roadmap so competitors does not copy them or take advance is as ridiculous as Windows Phone guys hidding their plans so Apple does not copy them... like dude, the competitors are years ahead in features and userbase, they are busy giving users what they want, they have no time to waste figuring out what the dumb boy of the class is doing.

I'm not telling anyone anything and, in fact, really not, what you are insinuating. Instead I said this:

I don' tell people to invest more. I'm just expressing my astonishment, that the ones, who have already invested so much, seem to have problems getting as much as possible out of their investment. That's what I'm saying. And the other thing I said is, that I think, one aspect that prevents, that we don't get to talk about, how we could use the things we already own best, are these constant arguments.

You really don't see threads very often, in which people are asking specifically "Hey, I have this - has anybody an idea how to do x or y with it?" That would raise the general skill level, from which the Maschine development will also benefit. Like you I'm also in other forums and it really surprises me, what a hard time many sometimes have to grasp some concepts, if you know what I mean. It's not the single individuums fault, but it made me wonder about the "swarm intelligence". I think, there is room for improvement and it can start here.

But you're right, I don't like threads like this one here - they're no good for anyone, except for those, who are venting their anger. I can understand that, but the point, at which some people are just beating a dead horse has been reached long ago. I am not saying they're wrong and I don't excuse NI. What I'm saying is, that the community could find a better way to deal with this, as threads like these tend to poison the interaction here. If one insists on being right long enough. one will automatically slip off into the wrong, if he doesn't see with his anger-clouded mind, what he might be destroying alongside. That's what I'm talking about and I think, I'm not alone - I just saw in another thread someone asking "how many more of these threads?".

So if you are, in fact, telling me now to look away, this doesn't sit right either, does it? I am looking away very often - I do. If I would get involved in each and every of these threads, I'd also have a humongous high post count, so I'd like to think, I'm quite moderate. But if anyone is telling me, that I, as an equal forum member, aren't allowed to express my discontent about the forum culture here, then he's doing nothing else than telling me to shut up & f*ck off. And then it starts. But insulting doesn't solve anything, so would we really want it that way? I'm not telling people to shut up, I just don't think screaming into the void is solving problems. In fact I think, they're causing more. Because people have left and will leave this forum, if it's like this again and again. And it happens slowly & quietly. If I don't find anything interesting here to read and to engage in, then I won't frequent this forum anymore and I'd like to believe, you wouldn't want that.

I'm not sure, if you meant, that I'd "argue against improving things that would benefit everyone.", but I don't. I don't say that NI shouldn't develop these feature - you wouldn't find that. We had that discussion about recording mutes and performance recording a few weeks ago and I don't deny the usability for these features for many people. And I don't say NI shouldn't do this.

But it's a huge effort for me trying to take people seriously, who didn't manage to improve their composition and arranging skills in "8 YEARS", so that they still need to record, where they don't want to hear a sound (the majority of the music, we're producing here is really not that complicated). I'm not talking about newbies here, but about the seasoned composers, that we all, of course, are. And if someone has problems with composition and arrangement, let's talk about it - I found the conversations about odd time signatures at the Beat Battle last year very informative. I also find it hard to follow the logic of someone, who couldn't find ways to include Maschine in his workflow for years - despite the fact. that there are a lot of tutorials with different solutions about that here. And my sympathy for those, who, in eight years, didn't manage to get out of this, for them, malignant relationship with NI, decreases the more I read threads like this. As condescending as some might take this now, it is really not meant like this. It is not. I really, really try to take people serious. And I try to help whenever I can - people, who have contacted me with specific problems can confirm this. But some on this forum are honestly running in circles and it doesn't do anybody good. I don't want anybody unhappy, but I also don't want people to piss on the lawn on which I'm also playing. So, instead of this argueing, could we all just calm down and find solutions?

If someone is saying, you can't sell Maschine, as the Komplete licences are connected to that, allow me to help. Looking at the second hand prices in the forums, I can see, that selling Maschine and buying a second hand Komplete licence almost match. I suppose, both will be between 200 & 300 quid, so I guess, the loss will be minimal, if there might be even one. I guess, the loss is even smaller, if you take into account the years of frustration one might be able to spare himself. That could be a solution.

So, as much as I can sympathise with the venting, what I don't like is, that it prevents problem solving and it distracts from other problems. What I'm saying is: don't complain, act. Cut your losses or, alone or together, find solutions to make it work (there are!). Either way, by doing this one could give NI the finger, saying - "See, I don't need to buy your upgrade anymore!" So I guess, I'm really not telling anyone to invest more - quite the opposite.

To answer your post seems like Ableton would be better choice. No need to keep investing in a companies product your not satisfied with. Live 10 has some nice features.

Thank you - that's what I meant. We're so hung up on two, three issues (that aren't unimportant!!!), that we don't adress other glaring problems - like the browser and the categorisation system.

Seems that everyone here is just expressing their desire for NI to properly develop Maschine and follow industry needs/develop essential features for creative and professional use.
The longer loyal users are made to wait for these features, the more their music suffers & the less enthusiastic we feel when NI finally catches up.
Also the more pressing the arguments get. Most of this thread discusses things I want to see, and while I'm not too stressed about some of the things, the lack of arranger tracks/audio tracks is really, really getting old.

It seems to me there has been a culture problem at NI with very slow development and a fear of moving in directions a lot (if not most) of their customers want.

... I am however optimistic about all the hints coming from the beta testers... though I worry when some of them say these ideas were developed then neutered. I hope that is not the case.

Firstly, can we stop using swear words with replaced characters? It's uncalled for.

About the OP:
Why is "after AL10" in thread title, whats connection is there between Ni being 'silent' and AL10?
I don't agree that's things are being hidden, if you have no idea what the plan/development priority is you are not paying attention enough, to me it's pretty clear since NI asked for more beta testers and stated what they were going to be testing... here in August.

Let's get real for a second here....
Do you really want some NI official to create a new Open Letter post where they say what they are planning/working on? That thread would be filled with angry and frustrated users mentioning the other past open letters just like this thread is, it would be more harm than good, I don't think anyone really wants that, what we want is results.

You are away to smart to say such a thing Cake, how is that "Open" in the OP context?
An open Beta when the software is already done just for bug chasing 2 months before release is not "being open" or having a "development road-map".
A lot of you guys are implying other companies are transparent about whats under development and that just not true at all.

You were not banned for saying your truth, you were banned because of the way you express your opinion. Calling people dumb and suckers is not acetable, express yourself in a polite manner and it's all good. You implying that the mods censor the forum, we don't, I even let slide when you posted other products press releases which is clearly against the forum rules. I understand you are passionate and frustrated with a lot of things, so am I, but let's not make up things to prove our points, it's unnecessary as well as any forum drama.

That would mean 2 beta groups but if this second group were to be a more 'exclusive' and composed of only advanced/knowledgeable users I would agree it could be beneficial, but only if those people had some sort of influence on the development. Not sure about about paying people with software though, people would try to join just for the reward.
I don't think knowing the top requests is much of an issue, most people want the same things as far as "big features" go, so it should be pretty clear...
I tried to make the community's wishes as clear as possible by compiling, editing, organizing, moderating and quantifying the feature suggestion subforum, still... it has little traction. I personally would like to see more of us liking, commenting and generally supporting the suggestions.

Indeed. I agree 100%.
IMO The problem with this sort of thread is always the same, some users complain (which is ok if it's done politely as it is the right of a customer) then others complain that the first group keeps complaining which generates a negative vibe in the forum :(

Fair points.
Do Ableton do closed betas and make people sign NDA's?
Does Maschine do public BETAs without NDA's

Ultimately results are what count within reasonable time frames, not the BETA's imho. it's my opinion that NI talks the talk, but does not walk the walk, and then just stops talking altogether. Lack of engagement, development is 100% marketing driven which polarizes the user base. Results have been lacking and users aren't being listened to.
