Aftertouch is missing from 2.0 midi automation.
At least channel aftertouch is needed, polyphonic would be cool too.

Agreed. Polyphonic would make sense because pads are also sensitive to aftertouch IIRC?

This is annoying - I really want to buy a Maschine, at least a Jam, but lack of aftertouch is a deal breaker

Why the hell are NI ignoring this, even their own synths have patches you can't play properly in Maschine - Massive and Form for example both have factory patches that use aftertouch well and sound completely different in Maschine

It´s because of a bug in their analysis script, which searches the forums for good ideas from the user base.
Unfortunately it marks duplicates as error and put them to the ignored list ;)

Almost 5 years ago this option was put in sticky mode.
What would it be nice if this option is processed in the next update.

NI, is there a special reason why this basic midi function is still not being implemented?

    Thanks for your attention,

    René.

The Sticky is a recent thing, maybe a year old, it is my attempt to show NI our priorities as users in an organized and quantifiable manner.
NI official accounts don't usually reply back, if ever.

I think there were reasons initially in that the pads use aftertouch for certain repeat effects, but the development of NKS instruments and S series keyboards make it more important that there is integration between them.

i place somewhile ago a post with this fragment:

" i always thought that aftertouch is lacking on maschine because of the poly pressure aftertouch, but i knew, that this must be two kind of different midi messages. and they are, of course. i only made i simple test one time, and indeed it is really poly pressure aftertouch with note repeat.

they are 2 completely different midi messages.. so why is there no aftertouch? because the pads of the maschine mk1/2/3 are poly pressure? a simple midi-transformer (in cubase for instance you can do that) could transform poly pressure to channel aftertouch.
perhaps there is another underlying problem."

it cripples possibilites in NI plugins, such as kontakt, which is very strange...

i tought also, yoy can pin note repeat/arp, but after you unpin, maschine software can be aware that you want: channel or poly aftertouch.

is it a problem that aftertouch is always connected to note repeat/arp, even with an external keyboard?

but the software can notice when you apply aftertouch for note repeat or arp AND the aftertouch isn't recorded, as midd cc messages.

i try to think of all the possibilities and problems, but i think there is a simple bypass option, then you loose arp for instance in live sessions (or not, make a button...).

    etc. etc.

We really need to keep bumping this till something is done. Now that NI are actually bundling Machine with their own keyboards, the top range of which support aftertouch, it is a crazy anomaly that this is still not supported in their more powerful host but only in the cut down one.
