In terms of proper forum etiquette you are right, but I think that you are missing the point here. People are angry at this company for a very good reason! As stated in a comment above, Vista is now a mature(ish) OS. Many other companies have stepped up to the challenge and released x64 drivers for most of their products by now. But NI haven't released anything yet for Vista 64! Nothing... not even a beta! All we hear from this company is the party line that "the drivers will be released soon". This whole x64 debacle must have set a new low for company standards.

NI seems totally unresponsive to customer feedback and complaints. The only contact I've seen on these forums which even resembles something "official" is from the moderator 'ew'. He is trying to make the best out of a pretty s*itty situation. NI have been silent for more than a year regarding the AK-1. I would give more credit to NI if a company employee/spokesperson were to comment "officially" in the forums to let everybody know exactly when we will get 64-bit drivers.

Anyway, I can leave all this behind me now (and unsubscribe from this thread). I've finally done it :)

Goodbye NI! You will be gone but not forgotten.

And to the rest of you. I hope you can get busy making (x64) music soon!

I must say that I too am about done but because I have no money and no return policy I'm kinda stuck with it unless I sell used. M-audio just recently put out their drivers too though so they aren't really that ahead of the game. Good luck with your fast track though.

Like the rest of the AK1 buyers (unfortunately I can't say users) I just wanted to express how dissappointed I am. I've been checking the NI page and this forum every day for the past few months. It seems as if NI does not care about it's customers and I think it's important that it's said out loud. Maybe there is just not enough people who ask for a 64 bit driver?

So i returned my Audio Kontrol 1 and Kore 2 back to Sweetwater.com and i also didnt order the Komplete 5 as well since im not getting any support so why should i support the company. I would rather keep my $2000 that it would have cost me for the 2 pieces of hardware and the Komplete 5. I would rather waste my money on a company that cares about its customers and that are on the game as well. Anyways if NI comes out with 64 bit drivers in the future....like 2010...LMFAO..what a joke. Anyways ill keep watching for driver updates but im not holding my breath or crossing my fingers as i have been doing that for months and months now. Once drivers are available then maybe just maybe ill have a little interset in this company and im going to have to build trust again in this company. Well HAppy New Year and Merry Christmas folks and hopefully someone from NI is listening but probley not as they arent interested in customers concerns only customers money but there wont be any if people like me return all their NI s.hit and yes it is NI s.hit! Thanks for listening to me vent....Peace!

:( Finding and reading this thread has been somewhat eye-opening. This is the first time I've experienced a problem, since purchasing my AK1 about two years ago. I absolutely love it's ('till now) rock-solid performance, it's rugged design, and it's all-around versitillity. Up 'till now I've also been strongly considering going with NI's Traktor Scratch, which seems to be a solid platform compared. Perhaps NI has shifted its R&D focus from the AK1 to the A8DJ. I'm starting to have reservations after hearing about NI's total failure to address this seemingly small problem. I just bought a new Sony VAIO, Pentium dual-core system with Vista x64 pre-installed and 4Gs or RAM. One of the great advantages of x64 systems is their ability to address more memory. So then I try to install my AK1 and. . . well, you know the rest. SO WHAT'S THE DEAL, NI? Could you at least officially address this issue and let your customer base know that you really do stand behind your products and intend to support them?

I was doing some research and it looks like Vista drivers will be forwards compatible with Windows 7, so once NI gets out Vista 64 drivers we won't have to wait multiple years for drivers once Windows 7 comes out. I guess that's a bright spot on this whole mess? And if anyone at NI is listening this is good for you. You just need to make one last push to make these drivers and then you won't have to worry about it for a good long while (provided the drivers actually work correctly).

    Windows 7 32 bit works

Just to confirm my previous post I installed Windows 7 Build 7000 last night after it got leaked and installed the AK1 driver without issue. I don't have enough space to install Komplete 5 on the partition but it looks like the Windows Vista to Windows 7 transition will indeed be much smoother than XP to Vista. So let's get this Vista 64 bit driver out and all look forward to Windows 7 )It's really great even in this beta stage so I have high hopes).

The first x64 drivers were released with the Traktor Pro upgrade (for the Audio8). The others are in testing (hopefully some of you got on the list); they're looking good so far.

I'm hoping by the end of the month that they'll be out for all the NI hardware.

When I hear more, I'll let you know.

    I'm not x64... I still run XP 32 bit.

Have I run the 32 bit version of the new drivers? Yes.

Is it really around this month? I'll get an AK1 soon, and thought about installing Vista 64bit on my Home-Station. Currently, I've ran out of my 30day trial and haven't activated my 32bit Vista yet. If it'll come out later this month, i'll wait to then try the 64bit version.

well you may have come just in time Dave. I can't wait for these drivers and I'm also curious to see what they'll have at NAMM 2009. maybe driver release day please?

True, Dave. You have come just in time! The drivers are "due for release at the end of 2009". So all you have to do is wait until time starts running backwards. Simple as that!

    Good luck,
    Matt

    Any Update? AK1 Vista64 Drivers?

Any update on the release of Vista64 drivers for AK1? Sure would like to be able to use this $250 paperweight that's sitting on my desk.
