Why do they always have Native Instruments products in their presentations? AIR Instrument products are very good.

i just hope the shops will have Komplete 10 installed on the Akai Keyboards, i really want to see this for myself.

to be honest, i am not interested in the Air Library.

lmao smart move if u ask me,

they know they aint fuccin with NI as far as virtual instruments

so may as well pimp their instruments and show what they should of done with the kontrol keyboards.

great business move by Akai, fair play to em

much like maschine the benefits would be lost on a different control as u would not have the colour screen for browsing and editing

I'd definitely go for a version with none of that , for a couple hun cause when I'm using computer stuff I look at the computer anyway...
would rather use that software with my controller than these, I see their reasoning though

I think you can take your own laptop, hook up the keyboard and test it.
That's what I did with NI KK.

But KK must have read your (already prepared for NI) database.
VIP should first scan all your VSTs.. That should take quite a while. I think..

it was a nice clear, no fluff video..and gave out a lot of info..
So far, to me, the AAA seems a better thought out version of the same type of product than the Kontrol S..

What i DO like about the Kontrol S though is the fatar keybed, which i have on the Virus and the SL2 and, as most akai i have tried are clunky keys, may rule the AA out.
So if NI along with the 3rd party vst support puts the screen in from the studio (and we can all wonder why they didnt from day 1!!) and also put wheels in for mod and patch then its open for consideration for me..

mind you with 25, 37, 44, 2*49, 61 and 76 keys already laying around it has to hit all the bases for me to own either of these...:D

I doubt NI or Akai see it this way, i suspect there will be a spike of KU sales from these keyboards, i dont think there is any negative here for NI, NIs keyboards were always just for die hard fans of NI or they would have sorted 3rd party vst support first and foremost.
Akai may have the better hardware this time, but even if they are crappy at updating/fixing their software, NI is still light years ahead of anybody else.

i'm here to weigh in my thoughts, I have both keyboards, only had the advance for about 2 days. Now i'm going to be as honest as i can, i have the KK49 since day one, i enjoy it the key-bed is nice, its built nice, it has those beautiful lights that help me so much when i'm using battery 4. The touch strips are getting better, still not to sure if i like them or not, and you do have scales and arp. However, only had the akai advance 25 for 2 days, and i'm ready to take it back.. For one of the larger ones. This thing is far better than the KK hardware and software side of things, bare with me and i'll tell you why. 1. It really works with most vsts, and it works well, Layering 2 or more vsts is a snap. With dedicated buttons for latch, arp, note repeat and full level (volume) its just feels more fluid. It also brings Time Divisions (1/4 to 1/32T) to dedicated buttons, combine that with the 8 pads which feel great to the touch, its just nice.. Controlling the software from the controller takes a little getting use to, but i think it's the limitation on the 25 key version being that it don't have the real-estate to add more buttons. The screen is good, it can be viewed from pretty much any angle, and i'm amazed that this unit is USB Powered. Please don't think this is a rant against the Komplete Kontrol because its not, its more of saying that with the software and the hardware that Akai brought forward this time, they deserve credit. It's not all roses though, the initial scanning of vsts if you have a bunch like i do, while take forever, then tagging them can become tedious, Akai tries to help you as much as they can and for the most part they do a good job. P.S. it did crash and i had a problem getting it running again, one of my vsts from arturia kept it from starting, i just removed it from my vst folder, launched V.I.P software and it worked, but it took me about 3 hours to figure this out.
