    Hi everybody,

Does anyone know something about resolving the compatibility issues with ProTools 8, if there's any solution coming up soon, or we shouldn't bother and just update the system to v8 and work with other VI's that are compatible?

    Thanks

What you talking about? I've Akoustic Piano with Pro Tools 8 and it works like a charm... Steinway D piano is absolutely fantastic.

    Thanks QkY

I just happened to believe Digidesign's compatibility chart.. And I asked in a forum thread about NI compatibility in the DUC about the Akoustik Piano, the tech support said it's not compatible. So maybe you had luck or there aren't any issues with Akoustik Piano at all with PT 8. Anyway I am going to upgrade the system this week, hope everything is going to go smooth like you said it was for you..

    Thanks again

NI support told me it is not compatible. Digi told me it is not compatible. Countless users say it's not compatible.

    IT AIN'T COMPATIBLE! :)

Yeah everybody told me that too.

    Bottom line - it's working...

I don't know why (also with Kontakt) , but with these things it's maybe a lot about luck or about each individual system, but in some instances it just works, even though it's not compatible..

I guess at least you should give a try and then see.

    aKOUSTIC Piano

hi,I have Akoustic p installed on 2.93ghz imac 4 gigi ram.the pro tools 8 session with it as a pluggin has 4 tracks three are audio, other is midi(piano). It runs for 30 secs then crashes with "need more cpu etc" promt, its on max in playback engine. does the fire 800 to 400 adapter from external drive required for new macs make adifference? It is from komplete 5 (all updates done) and not in " kontact player 4 " like kmplte 6.

My powerbook handles it better than the imac.(still not good enough for the sesions im working on tho) that is why i uped the purchase to bigger cpu....:| .Any ideas?
    NI have any answers?

    good news maybe

Wel after reading countless forums on protools vs NI etc.I dont fell very confordant a the mo with iether products....But As a last resort i tried to use komplete 5 in garageband and it totaly kicked butt.I loaded up pluggins till the cows and sheep came home and didnt have a problem what so every..Amazing!
GO garage band.....but its no fun mixing in GB so i have to bounce to itunes and import AIF to PT8....boring.....
Akoustic piano worked very well i GB.Out of the komplete 5 bundle its the pluggin that causes the most issues it protools for me.like sending the signal to other audio tracks in pt8 and not just its own midi aux or instrument track etc.
It would be Awsome if it all worked to gether. PT8 with all my sessions that just have audio tracks is awsome! pitty bout the NI bug tho....it would appear that its a protools issue.....hows NI work with lgic? or sonar? etc
any help or suggestions would grrrrreeatly apreciated.

    Back to GB.
    PEACE

Ni needs to think towards the future, I.E developing for windows 7 and 64 bit,, because in time we are all going to be moving that way.. seriously who bothers with xp these days and vista is just crap... yeh it works if u can get it sweet and have a midus touch but we need to be developing for WINDOWS 7 64BIT... windows should only be touching on 64bit as should other software designers etc...

    cheers and peace
im pissed off akoustik has been cancelled this is insane!
will NI bring out something similar? they seem to be updating new products this last 6 months... whos to say in another 6 we wont have a battery 4 or something... mmmm

    akousticp continued

I think that the akousic piano and electric piano are now in the new kontact 4 player.I have been trying the konact 3 player in pt8 and so far so good...would hopefully lead to the "akoustic piano" working now work as its part of kontact 4 etc..but at this stage im not buying the update untill i know for sure....dont want to go through the last few months agains with spending and no playing.. .
    hope this helps.
anyone out there using akoustic p with kontact 4 ok.... on imac 10.5.6 in PT8?
