I have just installed Komplete 4 for the first time. All other instruments working fine (Kontakt etc). But Akoustik Piano not loading instruments/finding samples (they are on the same hard drive as Kontakt/Battery instruments). As I load up AP I get the message : "WARNING: Can't load default configuration. Please check your installation." Then as AP loads I get a list saying each of the instruments and Rooms is "Not ready (Instruments missing/samples missing)".

I have re-installed a couple of times and have updated with AP updater each time. Still no luck...Any ideas?

    AP 1.1.0.011
    OSX 10.4.8
    Power Mac G4 Dual processor
    1GB RAM

For what it is worth, I had the same issue and managed to work things out by using the following structure:

    C:\Program Files\Native Instruments\Sample Libraries\Akoustik Piano Library\Samples\Bechstein\Samples
    and
    C:\Program Files\Native Instruments\Sample Libraries\Akoustik Piano Library\Samples\Bechstein\Samples2
    and
    C:\Program Files\Native Instruments\Sample Libraries\Akoustik Piano Library\Samples\Boesendorfer\Samples
    and
    C:\Program Files\Native Instruments\Sample Libraries\Akoustik Piano Library\Samples\Boesendorfer\Samples2

    etc

Thanks for the advice. Just did another re-install of Akoustik Piano - this time changing the drive where the samples are's name. And all working fine now..

    Cheers

I have the same problem, do you mean changing you sample drive's letter in XP and then installing and then changing it back so that your other sample players can find their samples?

I have the same issue. When I initially installed, Akoustic Piano played all pianos fine. Then I uninstalled Komplete 4 because the Kontakt 2 VSTi was disabled in my sequencers and have not been able to use AP since reinstalling (3 times).

Why can I not store the sample libraries where I want them?

Has NI decided how we are going to organize our PCs now?

The samples should be stored on a separate drive.

Of course I guess I should be thankfull I could activate it.

    Hi all,

this is an issue with the Komplete 4 installer of AP. will be fixed in the next AP update!

This is what solved my missing samples problem....

I told the Komplete 4 installer to put the samples in.....

    F:/Samples Libraries/Native Instruments/Akoustic Piano

    but it created another directory....

    F:/Sample Libraries/Native Instruments/Sample Libraries/Akoustic Piano

.. that I couldn't see for the life of me. So I copied all the Samples into I had previously copied into the first directory to the Sample directory of the 2nd directory and all is hunky dory.

I'm on OSX 10.4.8 running an Intel Mac with the latest version of AP. Although I can find the piano samples, I (or AP) can't find the rooms for the life of me).

Does anyone know where the rooms are kept?

    Hi There:

Seems like AP can't find my default set up. I think that I may have to reload AP and try again.

    Mac 10.4.8
    Mac Book Pro 1.83 Ghz
External FW to hold all sample libraries.

Any ideas will be appreciated greatly.

    Best,

    Peter.

    Hi all,

the rooms are in the Samples/Impulse folder within the library. the Default setup is in the Default folder inside the library.

if your library path is set correctly and the library folders are all like origrinally installed, things should work fine.

the Komplete 4 bug is now fixed in 1.1.1 - so if you select the library location at the next AP start, it should be saved from then on.

    best,
    Markus

Also, I do not get anything on the menu anymore. I pointed AP to the right directory when asked and got "Ready" on everything.

    Something strange is happening here.

What's the best route to take now?

    Best,

    Tomas

    Hi,

i've just found a solution: I reinstalled AP 1.1.1 using the downloaded installer and selected also the AP Library to be installed (lowest selection under VST, RTAS and so on).
That did the trick, and i also wasn't asked for the library CD during install.

    Hope that helps,
    Borfi

That's interesting for my downloaded installer does not offer to install a library. There is just AU, VST and RTAS as option. How comes?

I've downloaded my installer over the Service Center Autoupdate-function.
    You might try this:
Open the Windows Registry Editor and go to:

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Native Instruments\

, find the Acoustic Piano Folder there and delete or better rename the key (in the folder) where the AP Library path is described (I don't have my DAW right before me, so my description about the key location in the registry could be slightly unprecise. But some logical thinking should do the rest.. ;-))
The installer might give you the option of choosing a library folder on next install then...maybe...
Use caution when working with the registry editor...

    Hi all,

thanks Borfi! the key is called ContentDir, change this to the right root folder, i.e. the whole path including Akoustik Piano Library.

on the Mac, you need a plist editor - the plist is in Library/Preferences.

    Markus

    Hi,

i think it would be convenient to have the option to choose/change the AP sample library folder from AP itself. That would make life a bit easier ;-)

    Hi Borfi,

yup, that is why we put in the check at startup. not sure why it still seems to not work in some cases.

    best,
    Markus
