    Hi all,

    1) make sure that everything runs fine before installing any updates, i.e. based on your original Komplete install

    2) when running the 1.1.3 update, make sure that the library path points to the folder just above the Default, Demos, Presets, Samples folder. in my case that is
    E:\Akoustik Piano Library\

that should really all that is needed. the most important point being that the update installer cannot fix any problems with previous installs. if your original install is not running:

    1) run the uninstaller on PC or delete all files and plists on Mac

    2) re-install with all options selected from the original DVDs

    3) run Server Center to activate AP

    4) run AP once to make sure that it can find the default setup, the impulse samples, and all pianos and samples; it will complain at start-up if anything is missing and offer to select the library path just like the installer above

    5) click on all installed piano images to make sure that they load and that sound works

    6) close AP and install the 1.1.3 update like stated above; you do not have to re-select the library path if it is already set correctly in point 4)!

    Markus...

Wanted to let you & everyone know...downloaded the latest Akoustik Piano (1.1.3)...installed on my audio drive...fired it up; & then got the lost samples routine again. But...I then re-mapped, & was fine thereafter.

But...I think I may have found a problem source. On my audio drive...(&...I can't even begin to remember why the samples went here...don't know if I did it inadvertently...or if it was created by default by KOMPLETE when I installed from the disc...but w/ Akoustik Piano (unlike Elektrik Piano)...there's a redundant folder in the hierarchy.

    Check it out:

    Extra Folder ?

    Is that right?

Did I do that...or did NI, out of the box?

    (sorry man, it's late & I'm fried)

    Thanks,

    MoonMix

    Hi Moonmix,

    thanks for your feedback!

I just ran the 1.1.3 update again on my PC here and did not get the extra Akoustik Piano folder one level down that you show in your image. so it might come fro myour original Komplete install. can you tell from the creation date on that folder?

that would be a really good reason though why things get mixed up!

Ya' know, Markus...?...that's why you're on that side of the glass; & I'm on this side. Yew be a smart MF, son...why in the h_ll didn't I think of that?

That's exactly it, man. That extra folder was created back on the same date as my original install. The remainder in that tree are dated last Wednesday...the date I installed the update.

    So...that solves that mystery...thanks!

Here’s the thing, tho...Since it (the extra baggage) doesn't fit as logical pattern...I'd like to get rid of it. But if I do...I wonder if that action will fart things up again?...hhmmm.

Well what the heck...if it does...I can always redo the update.

    Hey...THANKS, man. Great forum.

    Hi Moonmix,

    you are very welcome!

let us know if deleting that extra Akoustik Piano folder works.

is anybody else seeing this extra folder after the original Komplete install? kind of makes me wonder if there is a problem is in the Komplete installer.

I downloaded the demo version of Akoustik pIano 1.1.3, and installed it over and over again. But after installing, akoustikpiano.exe runs, but there is always the error: "AKOUSTIK PIANO was not able to find any instruments or rooms in your library location..." and I am demand to select a new library path. Why is this error occuring? Installation path: "[SystemDrive]:\\Programs\Native Instruments\Akoustik Piano" and Library Path: "[SystemDrive]:\Program Files\Native Instruments\Sample Libraries\Akoustik Piano Library" which is not empty. And even if I then select the library path which I have set during installation, the program still doesn't find the instruments. Is it because I don't have installed Komplete?

Please help me, because I really like to use this 4 pianos.

    How I fixed it.

Uninstalled Akoustic piano (this will remove the libraries)
Reinstalled from DVD 1 and selected only akoustic piano and libraries, vsti, dx. Then I let NI decide where to install!

    "InstallDir"="C:\\Program Files\\Native Instruments\\Akoustik Piano"
    "ContentDir"="C:\\Program Files\\Native Instruments\\Sample Libraries\\Akoustik Piano Library\\"

Second I ~MOVED~ Akoustik Piano Library to my high speed sample drive:

    D:\Samples\Komplete\Sample Libraries\Akoustik Piano Library\

Go to regedit:HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Native Instruments\AkoustikPiano THEN change "ContentDir" to reflect your new sample location!

Reboot to be safe! Run once then install any applicable updates.
