    Hi
I have a problem with the akoustik piano software.
Quite often the played notes suddenly stop to sound. This is quite annoying if in the middle of your playing your notes are cut off. I realy can't use the software with this bug. Is this normal? Or is there a solution.
    My Laptop:
    Dual Core 2.2GHZ
    4GB RAM
    Kore Controller 1 Soundcard

Edit: Just found out that I have this problem only in standalone version, not with the vst plugin. So I will use it through Kore. Still anoying.

Are you using the latest version of Akoustik Piano? I remember having a few issues with this with the very earliest version, but I don't think it still exists in the last version.

I am having the same problem with a laptop install.
It is most noticeable when the sustain of a note is cut off, however I think it might be happening at other times whilst playing.
When I release the keys/sustain pedal I still here the release sounds played even though the notes sound as terminated
I have notice a blip on the disc access led when the sound cuts out.

I have not checked it on my main PC yet.

This is exactly what I'm talking about. Horrible, isn't it? How can you use a pluggin like this?
I guess not everyone has this problem as I can't imagine you would use the plugin if your notes are cut off.
My solution now is a plugin called pianoteq. Thats a very good plugin from modartt. Sounds great and is only a few megabytes to install (physical emulation). I don't use the akousik piano before this problems are solved.

    Hi people,
it's so good to hear I'm not alone. I've noted this behaviour directly after my first usage of AP, but I did not find anyone else in the internet who complains about it, so I decided to shut up this time and wait for the next update.

Interestingly, Vienna Instruments seems to suffer from the same bug:
    http://community.vsl.co.at/forums/p/17691/137944.aspx#137944 .
So it seems to be a bug in Apple's audio library. However, why and how does Kontakt cope with it? No problems there.
For me, these cutoffs destroy the illusion of playing a real Piano. Pity, for I actually like the piano sounds in AP very much.

    Same Problem

    Hi.
I have the same problem on two different setups. One is a Windows XP PC with an Echo Layla 20 sound card, the other is a MacBook running Win XP with an Echo Audiofire 4 sound card. Sometimes the notes cut out while playing.

Another weird problem I just noticed on my home PC...if you are transposing the piano down an octave with the Transpose knob, play a note and hold it down, then play and release another note an octave above it, the upper octave note will sustain without having the sustain pedal down! I assume this is some kind of bug like that the Note On message gets transposed down an octave and the Note Off doesn't. I don't know. I've tried two of the pianos and it happens on both. Has anyone else had this problem, too? These are pretty severe bugs, they should fix them.

    I haven't updated to 1.1.3 yet, I'll try that.

Do you have enough voices selected?

Ok, enough irony. For those who own Kontakt: the AP presets are nki's, so you can open and play them with Kontakt. I just tried it: no problems at all. And now that I can enjoy them, I hear how beautiful they really are! Much character (much more than Pianotec), and very nuanced. So, NI-people, have the Kontakt-team tell the AP-Team how to avoid those darn cut-outs!

When I first started using AP I had some note cutoff problems. I learned that my keyboard was transmitting on more than one channel and AP was set to OMNI. Once I set AP to just accept one channel, it was OK.

It's nice to hear this worked for you. For me, it don't. Also with AP's Midi In channel set to 1, occasionally notes cut off. Moreover, my keyboard does *not* send anything except on the channel it is set to. So I hardly believe that it's a Midi problem...

I didn't say it was. I said MY PROBLEM was due to multiply MIDI channels being transmitted at the same time with AP in OMNI model. Yours must be different.

Yeah, right. I see you have a Windows system, so I think this is not a problem for you anyway. It seems only Mac users are the losers this time. I use an Intel MacBook and a brand new iMac (2.8 GHz + 4 GB), and on both machines I have the problem.

Hm... indeed. I just have installed my BootCamp partition and added my Komplete 5, and also here the cut offs in AP. Even when I change the audio hardware (my Alesis IO 26 doesn't work in Windows, it's a total mess of clicks and drops, highly unstable), it's the same. The world is bad.

    Hello,

Currently I am partly experiencing a similar problem - namely the sudden 'cut off' of pressed notes (no sustain pedal involved). And, as some of the former posters, it happens on a laptop (ThinkPad X61, 3 GB Ram, Win XP).
After defragmenting the HD, this problem is now almost gone.
Might be worth a try :)

    Cheers,
    Micha
