    Hello everybody,
Im on Leopard with komplete 4. My external harddrive was going bad, and i copyed files including akoustik pianos sample libraries to a new external harddrive. (I named the new harddrive the same as the old)

Then Akoustik piano could not find samples, said samples was missing, and I couldnt find a menu in akoustik piano to direct the program to the new lokation which actually was the same as before, just on a new harddrive.

So I desided to try and reinstall Akoustik Piano, using the leopard installer patch. Before i installed i deleted the 2 akoustikpiano.plist files in root and user preferences, and i deleted the akoustipiano folder in applikations.

I installed Akoustik Piano, and the notice to activat, buy, demo came up, i want to activate yes! Service center updates and i activate komplete 4.
But! In the overview tab in service center it says Akoustik piano is not activated.

I have the possibility to insert serial and go the the way through system id to activation key, But as Acoustic Piano is part of komplete 4, I dont have any seperate serial for Akoustic piano. Or do I? I cant find any..

I tried updating to the latest AK update, didnt change nothing.

    So what now!

I have read forums, and there are so many posts about problems with acoustik piano, so its really difficult to know what to do!

Please help! I have already lost many hours!

    regards Pelle

macbook pro, osx 10.5.6, komplete 4

I'm not sure what caused this, but you should call NI registration support on the phone. They can sort things like this out quickly.

Ni support helped me quickly with the registration problem.

So about the missing samples problem.
A friend suggested i moved the sample library to the internal harddrive on the macbook, because as he said the most common problems on osx, is permission problems.
So i moved the samples, and it worked!
So now I thought I had a permission problem with the external hd.

So i went back to the knowledge base to try and get the answer there,
and by luck found this thread:

    http://www.native-instruments.com/knowledge/questions/155/Application+not+able+to+load+samples

"If the samples are located on a volume that is formatted case-sensitive they will not load either. Please store your sample libraries on a drive that is not case-sensitive formatted."

So! I did format my external drive as case-sensitive. I will reformat the drive tomorrow and hopefully it will all work!

So the knowledge base was helpful, but I dont think the knowledge base is easy to use..
The thing is that - If something is not working and you dont know exactly why, its difficult to formulate the search string in the knowledge base.

Anyway I very happy that it looks like I can use the akoustik piano tomorrow.

I might just as well ask, what is the best way to format my external hd with the sample libraries . Should i use journaled or not?

    regards Pelle
