I put this together in Photoshop, any thoughts? Some notes:

    • I do not know how many cells Massive wavetables have, so 32 in my case is just.. a chosen number. I also don't know how long a cell is, so the number of columns is just a chosen number.
    • The green square represents the cell that is being edited. In this case cell #1.
    • The thick white square, with the slightly magnified waveform, cell #13, is thought to be a cell the user is currently clicking, and previewing in the slightly larger square above it. Maybe not needed, but an idea anyways.
    • Below the "cell browser" is a cell edit window, with some tools and stuff to the right.
    • You have a pen tool for drawing columns, an eraser tool which resets the columns to the zero crossing line, and the X for wiping the cell clean. Maybe the X tool should be available for use in the cell browser as well. Or perhaps a wipe table button for starting from scratch.
    • The import button is for importing custom waveshapes from .wav files into a cell, I guess there would have to be some prerequisites for the wave file though.
    • The WT-position is for auditioning the table, so you would basically just play a key and turn the knob, to listen to the transitions. Same with the Intensity knob which is equal in Massive itself, could be there for auditioning how the table behaves with the different modes (Spectrum, Bend, etc.)

Plus, in Massive generally, it would be cool to be able to set the amount of interpolation between the cells in the table manually, right now it transitions smoothly, but wouldn't it be cool to have harsh transitions from one waveform to the other?

I'd also like to see individual oscillator pan control, as well as individual filter pan control, and perhaps a third filter?

And if it's bad that I've used the Massive logo and the NI logo, let me know and I will remove it

    Best,
    Alex

This is what Massive needed to have from day one.

That would be nice...but you might want to watermark this image with a "Mock-up by..." in case this idea gets passed around at NI (or on the Internet). ;)

Hihi! very nice! you may want to have a look at U-he Zebra tht offers this kind of user-friendly features (http://www.u-he.com/zebra/) and also FAW Circle which is accompanied by a waveform/wavetable editor, I think, (http://www.futureaudioworkshop.com/) and which is also (a pretty bad in term of sound) copy of Massive, at least, conceptually.

    Good idea.

I hope NI put as many new feature additions as they possibly can and make this a truly massive synthesiser.

I've also suggested more modulators (unlimited) with an unlimited number of patterns for performer and step sequencer.

On top of that, I have suggested an arpeggiator, much like the one in FM8, though perhaps polyphonic. I realise the stepper can be used as an arpeggiator but I would prefer to use a dedicated unit.
