Well, there is some validity in your statement here.

I for one will never buy another "new" NI product, until it's been proven to be rock solid by the users that already own it. Its just how NI seems to work, K1 wasn't that great until the final release 1.5.3 I think, where it was an awesome stable sampler. It appears K2 might be going down this same path.

That said, oodles upon oodles of "pros" use NI products every day, so making that statement, even in (understandable) frustration, only hurts the validity of your larger point, which I think is a good one.

NI has driven me totally insane over the years, but you're wrong about Kontakt. Kontakt 2.1 delivers on the promise of Kontakt. It is THE sampler to own.

Potential customers just need to be advised that the price they pay is having to cope with NI's strange customer service.

Well 2.1 hangs Cubendo on exit and I don't think that was one of the promises.

That sucks. That particular one doesn't affect the Mac versions though - running SX 3.1.1 here.

You're correct. I am speaking out of frustruation. I should be more specific in that I don't know of any "pros" using it as RTAS / Pro Tools LE.

I guess I think of NI as a "toy maker" because of their product line. They must make more money selling cool and fun new plug-ins to Pro-sumers at guitar center than they do supporting their "flagship" sampler.

I can't take the company seriously anymore.

Although Pros do use NI, it's safe to say the NI option is buggy at best. The live performer who's running an NI app is braver than I...

I use Kontakt 2 for a live application - quite a high level one at that - and as long as you know where the bugs are it's quite usable. Hopefully, N-I has tightened it up in the new release. Bellyaching seems to be a full-time occupation for some.

belly-aching is only a part time occupation for me (That's why I apologized for the thread title after I wrote that message.)

trust me, I'd much rather be working with a stable Kontakt than checking this forum for bugs and much over due updates.

So I'm curious as to what your set up is. CPU, OS, Platform...?
