those are the mixers that are traktor scratch pro certified, notice the 3d is not on the list, but the 4d is

anyone ever try their xone 3d with traktor scratch pro and was able to use it without the audio 8 interface? i would love to buy a 3d and get rid of torq, i already have traktor pro, but not the scratch

 

The 3D is not certified. But even if it was, if you own Traktor Pro you would still need to buy Traktor Scratch Pro Upgrade For Certified Mixers.

 

The reason why the 3D isn't Traktor Scratch Certified is that the sound card on the 3D only has 3 stereo channels of audio. To fully use time code you'd need 4. This is probalby why I've seen some great deals on used Xone 3D's.

 

ahh, so could you use it as a two channel version, like traktor scratch duo, and just no be able to do the extra channels, or will it not work at all?

 

Unfortunately, timecode will not work at all.

 

This isnt actually the reason.
It doesnt matter how many stereo outputs the unit has . The Mackie is Certified and is only 2 channel. Remember Traktor Scratch originally only had 2 decks.
Certified isnt always about timecode it means that the Audio 8 isnt needed.

The 3D isnt Certified for reasons only know to NI i guess.
