If you add your preferred collections to the Favourites bar there is no need to display the Browser Tree permanently. Of course the Preview Player and the Searchfield should be still visible.

Agree - this should at least be an option.

Am puzzled... how could a track selection within the playlist happen for preview if the browser window would not be present? This sounds to me like a blind flight.

Yes, of course it should be an option to do so.
Its only about to hide the sidebar with the browser tree and not to hide the track list. Consider that you can still jump between your favourite collections in the top bar ( Browse encoder + star button pressed) but the track list will get the space from the left to the right side. All will look much cleaner.

Ahh, OK, then I mixed up track list with browser tree. Sorry.
This would be an option for the live gig mode and well prepared playlists for a club then. The browser tree window below the search field could be hidden by pressing <special key>+Spacebar or a similar command.

However, I would feel myself limited without acccess to Artists/Genre/Playlists lists as I have a lot more playlists than just the 12 slots in the favorites. And it would reduce the flexibility to react on customer wishes if a track is not already in the prepared playlists.
I'd rather recommend a notebook with 15" / 1920x1080 pixels display where all info has space enough to be shown.

    Exactly as you said.
I am using a 15" notebook but its to get the browser tree out of the way if you play in a "gig mode" with everything prepared. Its about to get things out of the way if its not required at a certain time. Any modern app is giving an option to hide/show the sidebar and I think there is a reason for that.

I support that as long it's implemented as a quick switch command between the different display options.
Would not want that to be a selectable item in the preferences box.

Since all layout related settings in Traktor are accessible in the preferences window why not to add it there as well. In the "Browser Details" page where it would belong to there is still so much space.

To select folder in the Favourites bar is supportend by default from Traktor hardware S2/S3/S4 (Press and hold the Star button + turn the Browse encoder to select another favorite folder)

As I mentioned above, this screen selection takes away the opportunity to select Genre and Artist (among others) on the fly, an option which people may need access to during a gig. Users work differently with the equipment, not all can pre-select / -store tracks in fixed playlists. If you play a wedding for instance you need to search tracks interactively and Genre & Artist may be needed quickly w/o going to the preferences screen first.

Its absolutely fine for me. To hide the Browser Tree should only be an option. Like the Traktor UI offers many possibilities for customisation this cold be an additional option for people which are taking the "all is prepared, club approach". No one is forced to use it this way bit for me it looks like a nice to have functionality.
