And if these don't get answered I will be taking my business to Akai..

Enough is enough, it's been 3 years almost now and still no time strech......what's the hold up?

now that we have vsti and can use external drum synth:

1.step sequencing on the piano roll

    or:

2.assign vsti to GROUP + assign midi note to pad/sound (this will create sort of 'external drum machine mode')

I think the number one feature request of everyone should be a way to record/sample when using Maschine as a vst plugin (not the fx) in a DAW.

    1)EXPORT MONO
2)Make another arrangement window so we can do some awesome arrangements and don't have to use these clips all the time.(something like Reason, Fl, Abelton, Logic)
3)EXPORT MONO (so I can export mono drum samples into protools or logic if you don't make another arrangement window).

New idea: A more securely soldered USB connector. I think Native Instruments should come up with a heavy-duty connector designed for frequent plug/unplug cycles as well as the potential for more tension on the plug than your average printer USB socket. Last I checked, people aren't taking their printers and scanners out for gigs...

Also: I also just realized that it's dangerous to ask for too many DAW-like features in Maschine.

Well, only dangerous if NI brings Maschine closer and closer to being a valid DAW replacement and as a result you get rid of your Cubase or Sonar or Live. Because surely the moment you do that, that's when NI will cancel Maschine.

So...word to the wise: Keep upgrading those DAWs people, and keep your chops current! It's better to have a fallback plan. Curse me now and thank me later. :D

And let's all hope for autosave and meters and a project timeline in the meantime...

I've only had Maschine for a day and I'm loving it but there are some very important features that are missing:

    1) Groove templates!

    2) Other quantize options other than 50% and 100%. What if I want to do less than 50%? Doing 10, 20 or 30% increments to custom groove templates would be perfect!

    3) Proper midi import. I recorded a midi part from Pro Tools into Maschine, and I made sure to turn off all quantization, set the pattern length correctly, etc. When I dragged the midi back into Pro Tools, every note was out of time. And it wasn't consistent. One note was a millisecond late, another note was five milliseconds later than it should be, etc. Sample accurate midi importing is essential. I haven't yet tested whether exporting to midi is sample accurate to simply bouncing out of Maschine, I sure hope it is!

    Sampling

I don't get it. There's free and open source audio editors and samplers that have typical sampler functionality like timestretch. Why would I pay €500 for a product that can't do that?

I'll buy Maschine as soon as it has:
    1) BPM detection and automatic timestretching of samples (a la Ableton Live)
    2) Automatic detection of loops vs. one-shots (a la Ableton Live)
    3) Ability to assign diatonic scales to the pads instead of chromatic notes (e.g. major scale, pentatonic scale, the 3 major and 3 minor chords)

Nobody knows what NI is up to though. They are the Apple of music software.

POST TRUNCATED: Sorry I was in wrong forum.

I'm talking about Maschine. If an MPC-style device can't be used for sampling on it's own, what good is it? Should I pay €500 for a pad controller I can play fingerdrums on?

Unless I can also use it as a sampler I'm not buying it.

    Sorry for the previous post.

Maschine is still very young and its complex programming. I'm sure NI will raise the bar. I agree that their priorities don't always sit well with users. But they definitely have potential to bring in more features. In reality, those new features may render current Maschine hardware obsolete.
Lets hope they take the environmental route and let us return hardware for rebate and they can recycle parts.

    1. timestretch

    2. enhanced tempo / loop creation options (a big esoteric topic... maybe i should make another post and link to it. For example: the ability to record freehand /i.e no set loop return time, and then manually select in/out points for the loop at any point in your recording and then have the software automatically calculate the bpm depending on your time.sig and set the project to that. Ableton can do something similar to this)

    3. enhanced sample editing options (not really for the automated options but enhanced support for the manual process e.g a play back bar when listening to samples in"edit" mode. etc.

Exactly this! I got the microsampler but returned it because even the uploading software didn't have BPM detection (even though all my loops have the BPM in the filenames!) I am crying my heart out but withholding my cash until Maschine gets something like this done.

It's so simple in software! There's free and shareware sampling software that does stuff like this and yet Maschine can't! With MPCs I can understand, they're stupid hardware but with Maschine there's no excuse.

NI, why don't you pour your money on product development instead of advertising! There's still a big crowd of people ready to buy more Maschines if you just ramp the feature set up. Make it more than an easier to use MPC - use the computer's processing power and features for actual sampling and looping.
