    Hi,

i'm wondering if anyone has any suggestions for an upgrade to my multicore cables, mine are now a little knackered and looking for an upgrade on the multicore cables themselves rather than the discontinued NI ones but cannot find anything with that resembles them.

My current setup is Traktor Scratch 3 with Audio8, x2 Technic 1210, Xone92 and an IMac.

I really like the use of both Vinyl and Traktor when I play, switching between digital/analog on my mixer but struggling to find any cables that would work.

Thanks to anyone that can help.

Or do I even need multicore cables nowadays?

I'm trying to get my head round how would these work? Where do you plug the turntable phonos in with these leads as they make out they are for Traktor Scratch and Serato DVS?

Thanks for letting me know, so how would that work with your setup, are the four spliters plugged into the back of each channel of the mixer, then the audio cables I’ve mentioned above go into each splitter from the Audio8, trying to see where you plug the turntables in or have I got it the wrong way round?

Also what’s the sound quality like with those splitters?

You need to split the rca outs from each TT into 4 (2xL, and 2xR)

Then you take 1L & 1R, and plug that into your PHONO in on your mixer. That gets the audio out of the TT, and into the mixer.

THEN, you take the remaining 1L & 1R, and plug that into your Audio 8. That gets the Traktor TC out of your TT, and INTO Traktor.

Then, you take a normal rca cable, and take that from your Audio 8, to the LINE in on the same mixer channel as on the previous step.

Christ I’m glad I asked and thank you again... so to do this properly I would need for x1 TT
    X2 Spliter
    X2 Female to Male RCA
    X1 Male to Male RCA

Apologies, not a solution for the OP but long term I recommend upgrading to the Xone 96. I had a similar set up with the Xone 92 before upgrading. Upgrading removes the need for all those cables but you retain the "feel" you're used to.

Thanks for this. I’m currently using the Native Instruments multicore cable but unfortunately I’m getting a lot of bad feedback noise/hum when paired with my Mastersounds Radius 2. It’s worth noting I have grounded both TTs and also the mixer to the Audio interface.

Would the feedback/hum noise be removed if I connect via this alternative route with standard RCA & splitters?

    Thanks

It should be more or less the same (if not even worst due more cable with less shield involvement).

Maybe it's something related to the mixer or the electricity system on the house. You can try to add some passive filters (ferrite) to the cables.

cheers for the suggestion - would those be fitted to each cable of the multicore cable or just the phono/TT in? Would you suggest fitting to mixer & TT power cables too?

Well I will start for the last cable into speakers and go backwards until you get rid of the noise. In the tt maybe isn't needed...
Maybe connecting step by step to find first where the noise comes from could help but you will need another mixer or phono preamp to check the tt...
    Makes sense?

Thanks, I will give the ferrite clips a go although I’m not holding out much hope. Reading online it seems ferrite will help reduce RFI noise but my issue seems to be more ground loop related as it’s a humming sound....failing this, I’ll just have to bring my audio 6 near my mixer and connect via traditional RCA cables and switch the TT rca between phono input on audio 6 device and mixer phono input when moving between real vinyl & timecode, not ideal but easy enough. Reason being the phono volume via direct thru mode in traktor is way too low even with mixer gain maxed out, I guess due to poor quality phono preamps in the audio 6

Could it be. Make your tests and bring some feedback so anyone with similar issue could learn from your experience.

    Hello guys!

Thank you for this post and Merry Xmas to you!

    I have the same issue.

    My setup is:

    2x Technics 1210 Mk5
    1x Taula 4 analogue mix (4 channels)

Mostly of the time i play regular vinyl however i have some digital tracks that i would like to play aswell.
I'm a Native Instruments client using Traktor Audio 10 with turntables connected directly to Audio 10 as inputs. (Audio 10 sends out in 4 separated channels).

I still have the multicore cables but they also do feedback noise/hum. (Could this be because of the analogue mixers?)

I would love to go back to a solution were no noise could be heard.

    Regards!

Are your TT's grounded to your mixer? Or, have the MK5's got internal grounding mod as standard?

Have you tried it with standard RCA cables (not the multicore)?

    I do play with:

TT’s connected to Audio 10 inputs and in traktor direct thru

4x Neo/Oyaide D+ Class X DVS Dual RCA Cable as outs in Taula’s mixer channels.

I just would like to have phono/ line so I can listen to regular records and change to traktor scratch anytime.
