Being able to interact with the team during the beta has been awesome, they've worked out some issue with AKAI keygroup import and now it's working like a charm.

I've been able to bring over all my instrument sounds from my mpc 4000 too, as well as the drumkits and such.

This is awesome, I also tested it with a brand new akai format grand piano, works perfect, I'm lovin it.

I don't have to tell you what this means lol. With all the AKAI formatted sounds out there, we can add to our library the things we want, and unlike current monster libraries, the akai cds usually don't take up much space, but were well programmed.

In addition to that, programs like extreme sample converter allow you to change other formats into akai s5/6000 or z4/8 format samples (you can even sample plugins and put them in this format)...which wlll load up perfectly in Maschine now :D

this is probably one of my favorite additions in the 1.5 beta so far...

    anyone else using this much?

    Import Akaiformat

    Hello to all,

I'm new here in the forum.

Had a few years ago a MPC2000. Was a great device. I've recently bought the NI Machine. Nice piece. My question to you: Where did you have your Akai Samples? I do not get out Cd's in Akaiformat to import in Maschine.

    Thanks in advance

    Chris

I had akai instruments in my mpc 4000 and on my hard drive, as well as I have some cds in akai format.

    @saintjoe

can you import your Akai CD´s to Maschine ?
    I am a PC User, normaly i can´t read Akai formated CD´s.

I had first thought that the NI-Team brings a new feature to do this.

I assume that you can only import samples from your hard drive, isn´t it?

    Regards
    Chris

Good question. I can load AKAI files from CD Roms with Battery, but how do you do it with Maschine?

I don't think it directly reads akai formated cds I have my akai samples with the program files already extracted on my 4k hard drive or on my computer. I'm not quite sure if it can directly read the disk...good question.

well i love it and hate it. I love that it maps to the pads an all but unfortunately most of my drum kits from my mpc are heavily multilayered with other pads and filtered.... you can't reproduce this in maschine the way an mpc does. so even though it looks like it's mapped right. they will never sound the same. unless triggering multple pads via 1 pad is implemented.

i'm talking about keygroups, not mpc programs... pianos, guitars, synths, strings, etc in AKAI format :)

but I feel ya, we still need better/more flexible layering and being able to map 1 pad to trigger multi sounds would be dope too. I've asked for both a few times lol

where do you find these? are there libraries of instruments out there in an akai format that can be loaded in maschine?

I've had them for years, I have some that I've taken from the hard drive of my mpc 4000, also there are companies that sell/sold samples in this format. I just got a grand piano (prosonus) from Big Fish Audio in akai s5000 format that loaded right up.

Any instruments in akai s1000, s5/6000, or z4/8 format will work, as well as the various mpc model formats,2000, 1000, 4000, 2500, 5000, etc.

You can also use sample converters to change various formats into akai format, I tried one that let me change kontakt and sampletank files into akai instruments, that I was then able to load up into Maschine.

Hey saintjoe, could you post links to some of the good sites for akai format instruments? Thanks.

Edit: Here's one i came across awhile back. Don't know how good they are but the site is well laid out and you can search by format: http://www.primeloops.com/

Seems to have a fairly diverse range of sample sets. :)

    sure here are a few:

    Indiginus - http://indiginus.com/

    Hollow Sun - http://hollowsun.com/shop/buy.htm

    MTLC - http://www.mtlc.net/index.php?page=BrowseFormat&cat=4&_format=57

    Big Fish - http://www.bigfishaudio.com/4DCGI/c...1::::511974;12::::C511974;C12::View=36;Page=1

    and of course eBay :)

AKAI samplers aren't really developed for as much as they used to be, but there are literally thousands of CDs out there in this format and you can still find a few instruments and companies making samples for them, you just have to look. Anything s1000 and newer should work.

Quality! Thanks saintjoe. Just listening to some of the Hollowsun demos now, good sh*t. This a whole other side to the maschine. :)

thanks for the info.. let me know what conversion program you were able to change kontakt files into MPC instruments with. i tried "extreme sample converter" but it seems that can only export to akai s5000/s6000/z4/z8 akp files, which maschine won't read, or individual SND files for each sample (not a mapped multisample).

Extreme sample converter is the best one I've used so far. I think you are misunderstanding this thread. It's not about using mpc programs, it's about akai sampler formats, if you import an mpc program, most of the time it's drums and samples, not multi samples unless the mpc supports keygroups, which the 4k does and I believe the 5k now does.

Read my below post again, and you'll see that the ESC is putting them into the right format, you don't need multisamples in mpc format, just akai format. This is working in the current beta release and has been working for a little while.

so if you load a keygroup (akp) file in the sampler formats they will be imported into a new sound instead of as a bunch of drum files. It will be ready to play across the keys.

ähm, sorry could someone some explain for me?

is it possible to import akai-cds? how?

will the loop-points and the particualr multi-samples transformed in a maschine-sound?

the whole synthes and envelope settings are complete equal, but this multi-mapping/key-change setting and of course loop-point finding is so much work....

    how does the import work?

I don't think you will be able to directly read the akai cds in Maschine, since it's not a regular iso cd format. If you have a program that can read akai data, you can copy the programs off.

I have many akai programs and instruments that came in multiformat cds, so akai is on there with others like exs or whatever.
