I've partially gone down that same route - though Spectrasonics and Arturia have each had a small wad of my cash. I fancied dabbling with a drum machine so went (again) for Arturia. My 'faith' in NI is such that I did not even consider mass sheen. Like you, I still use Kore - though I wish there was a like for like alternative somewhere. I thought that Big Tick's Zen might have been the answer but that seems to have withered on the vine (as it were). A great shame.
All i'm saying is that when they offered such discount Maschine was already out and I owned it so there was no way for me to benefit from such crossover deal. It would make sense now and I'm sure there aren't as many people who would benefit from this so I'm sure NI wouldn't incur much of a loss.
Apart from Razor, I haven't spent any more money at NI since they discontinued Kore. It's gone to Flux, U-he, Sugar Bytes, XLN Audio etc. Only thing I'll continue to upgrade is Kontakt on a necessity basis (ie. 3rd party library that I need requires newest version). I'm doing a sound design/industrial trailer album at the moment that would be a nightmare to produce without Kore. I will keep using it until it's no longer technologically possible. Unless Bitwig Studio contains enough Kore-like features to be a viable replacement.
It's the first plug I open every time, how else can you within half a minute open and compare 40 of your favourite presets using 15 different plugins. Kore is the ever expanding external memory of my brain.
I'm the same. I open Kore and start auditioning. My NI and non-NI plugs are all there next to each other making it easy to sort and find the right sound. Now that Kymeia has turned me onto the template concept, I have templates for most of my instruments, making tweaking and modding sounds ridiculously easy.
I miss Kore. But like many of you, I've been investing my time and money in other companies now. Spectrasonics and Kirk Hunter got a wad of my cash in the software realm and I've since invested back into some amazing hardware. Dave Smith and Eventide.... Love.
Personally, I bought a Yamaha Motif ES Rack and use it exclusively for piano and Rhodes/Wurly sounds with a dedicated controller. I use Kore for program changes and preset organization. B4 and Pro53 still rock! I may breakdown and buy a Hammond keyboard for dedicated organ. Have you seen the prices though? SHEESH'
This question might have been asked already a couple of times, but is there a possibiliy to save patches within kore player?
There is not. Kore Player (as its name suggests) can only play back Koresounds, and modify them in ways they were programmed to be modified. It's still a powerful tool, but not like the full Kore.
moving Kore to a new computer How do I transfer additional Kore sound libraries to my new computer? One in particular 'Acoustic Refractions' is no longer available as a download
You could start by employing some good manners. "Hello" is always a nice start. And many people like to see a "please" after a request for their help.
In your user account there is a download link for all your purchased products where you can download the Kore soundpacks again.
acoustic refractions Thanks Jim - but there is no link to Acoustic Refractions and the search on NI shows it is discontinued.
That is correct. If you purchased the soundpack previously, under your user account, it should show up as a download now, even if since discontinued. You need to login to NI, and here's the link https://www.native-instruments.com/en/my-account/my-products-serials/ If you are looking to purchase discontinued soundpacks, I'm afraid you're probably out of luck.
acoustic refractions Thanks for the advice guys but it doesn't appear in my list of products........that's the issue. I have a vague recollection that it might have come bundled free with Komplete 6 or 7? It's not in Komplete 8 as I've just had to reinstall that. I'l keep searching. It's installed on my old computer - can I just copy and paste to the new computer? I've installed all software on my new computer from the originals rather than port anything across.
I bought Komplete 5 6 and 7 and it was not bundled. Since Kore was dropped in 8 it is not likely to be there, but I don't have that. At least I don't recall it being bundled because I bought it standalone. You can look at the details in your Service Center display to see if it is a standalone or a bundled product. But you probably need to get in touch with NI support to straighten this stuff out.
