This is why i love NI. Das is german engeenireee (check spell) but you get the point. They do **** like no compnay does and thats why keep throwing money at them since day one.

About the g above about pitch, think melodyne a la maschine way!

    +100 for communicating

actually, no. i don't want the pitch to stay the same, which is pretty much the opposite of what everyone would use timestretch for. i'm thinking "old-school" (ugh) style of pitching loops up/down to sync them. right now though, if i change the tempo then i need to go back and adjust the tuning of each loop to match, otherwise they'll be cut off short (faster tempo) or there will be space at the ends (slower). Ableton Live offers several options for keeping the pitch the same, but also has a mode which automatically re-pitches the sampled loop (or even single sounds) to match the tempo. in some cases (err... many. hip-hop, jungle, etc) the up/down pitching of the sample is used for effect. a bit of a pain having to do this manually every time you'd like to see how it might sound at a different tempo.

so, basically, handling loops the same way as it does but NOT keeping the original pitch of the sample. it's such an obviously useful thing, that i'd actually be a little surprised if they hadn't considered this.

i'll feel pretty dumb if the Legato function already takes care of this. if not, could Legato possibly have an option added to react to tempo change? it basically already does this same thing when playing back loops on keys (or pads in keyboard mode).

... of course the new timestretch abilities that we've seen here (preserving original pitch) are a welcome feature, very happy to see that this has finally been added.

not long enough, but thanks! dude serves no good purpose here. both him and certifiedbeatz

well, at least we can have a peaceful weekend. might try to get my new PC and MK3 hooked up tonight or tomorrow, i may be spending more time around the forum than usual.

ahh... that's encouraging. hopefully that'll do it. (??) i guess we'll have to see how the Gate mode works.

    thanks!

So as a serato sample user now, what features from Sample has been adapted into maschine is my honest question.

I understand all the real-time time stretching but is it per wav that’s loaded into the pad ? Will it be super convoluted? I was doing the kontakt timestretching as an alternative then Sample came out and eased that stress but I want to keep it in house with maschine.

I hope you guys used the serato platform as an reference because they are doing a few things I PRAYED for NI TO do.

Hey, this update is looking really exciting.

I'm trying to compare the update to Serato Sample as well. My free trial is ending soon and I was planning on purchasing, but with this update I might not have to.

I mainly use serato just for the real-time pitch changing and time stretching (independant of each other) as well as key detection.

To what extent will features in the update overlap with features in serato sample?

good to see maschine moving ahead.
Despite all the negativity flowing around here, I still have a soft spot for machine and really think NI is a good company that means well. And the forum staff are great....
Its just....well...there are things that suit me better atm. I just hope NI makes me come back. This audio stuff has got me lookin', but its nothing new when you compare maschine current state to the "daw" crowd. Maschine ain't a daw, no, but its definitely one step closer with this audio stuff.... love the midi inlay with the audio wavforms...thats something Live doesn't have, and I might have to actually install this update just to check that out .. ;)..now carry on...peacefully, please !:D

There is the file save button on the Mk3 now that allows you to save a new version of your current project as it develops and you can load others. You still need a keyboard to name the file but once it’s into ally save each new save auto increments

I've been running ACID PRO on the side, just to handle loops, time stretching and key changes. If this works, that is GREAT!

In my experience so far it's not comparable to serato sample, the time stretching is very very good quality but the features implemented so far are very different, don't know how much I'm allowed to say here as I'm beta testing, I will say though I really enjoy the features that are there so far and I'm pretty confident the wider community will do too but I'll be hanging onto my serato sample for the time being..

I think it will work, remember that is the software the power of the maschine system, not only the controller itself ;)

Ok ok ok.. I need to calm down for a minute here So In 2.7 Maschine supports audio tracks AND realtime time stretching?!?

Can I just drag and drop a loop or a full song into the maschine arrangement and FINALLY see a waveform like in logic?

So no more adding loooong midi notes?

The video is not very clear or im still in a state of shock:) Please somebody confirm If that's the case I'm going to purchase maschine Jam tomorrow..!!!!

As far as i understand it you can not drag it into the arrangement - you drag it into a pad and then it plays there without the need of painting a note - or you use gate mode then it only plays if there is a note plus the tone shifts with the note.

I think you might be right unfortunately. It's a bit of letdown.. I was expecting real audio tracks a la MPC 2.0((((

I previously sold my Studio because it was a nightmare working with loops and audio tracks(((

I wish I could do my DJ edits entirely in Maschine. So dedicated audio tracks are a must for my workflow

Can the Dev, confirm this please?
