And the person sharing their condescension would otherwise be honing their musical craft on whatever platform they now love, if they actually enjoyed making music more than just being a troll. Silly internet. I couldn't agree more. Most of us check back in periodically to solve problems, look for updates, find answers to puzzles - and then go back to using the damn products on the desk for which we sacrificed the cash!

Yeah, that 'damn product on the desk' right now (currently front & center in a better spot than my Push2) is the Maschine Studio, that at the moment, basically just sits there and looks flashy when I load up different drum kits in Ableton. I can't bear myself to sequence anything in Maschine any more. However, I absolutely love using the Studio's dual screens to browse drum kits, so it still has a place on my desk.

But I really wasn't trying to be condescending . Just really frustrated with NI and Maschine at the moment and I tend to use this forum as my expressive outlet. My apology if I offended anyone or came off like a troll.

    Please...
You were not at all condescending!
You don't have to defend what you said in the slightest my friend. Someone just got the wrong end of the stick, and someone else just quoted them without really reading the rest of the thread!
    ;)

There's still neither good layering tool nor comfortable step-sequencer.
It seems the Maschine is getting more 'loopers'-oriented product, rather than drum programmers one. :(

+1 on the layering but what's wrong with step sequencer? I think it's pretty good epecially with maschine Jam

I would like to be able to control velocity inside the grid cells. Also, I would like to have "full window" mode for sequencer, without scene's part above.

I wrote about sequencer in my previous reply..
As for layering, sometimes I use Kick 2 as sound source inside Maschine. But I would like to have the similar built-in tool. The tool should have independent envelopes for every sample as well as independent EQs.

    Thanks for elaborating. :)

GUI improvements are definitely needed in a few areas, I agree, including more flexibility in what is showing at one time etc. As for the velocity editing, you mean that you want to be able to drag up/down actually on the note event to change velocity (instead of using the velocity stalks or controller)? That's fair enough and would be quicker, but it's not like it's impossible to edit velocity at present.

Have you considered using pad link? That way, you can have up to 16 layers that each have their own envelopes, LFOs, effects chains (including filters, EQs etc.) and is much more powerful than just having the layers on a single Sound have these features.

I cant see any complaints in this update. For me, this will make Maschine almost 100% complete. Would like to have seen this earlier but its fantastic that its here now.

    Hehe.

    The sequencer.
    The whole sequencer
    Nothing but the sequencer
    Midi out bug (windows)
    Mute solos
    Pattern independence.
    MIDI routing templates.
    Automation.
    After touch.
Loads of other stuff I've forgotten.

For some purposes I would like to work with layers in one window.
Also, I would like to process result sound as one sound (without routing separate layers to one bus).
So pad link is not convenient for my tasks.
I know, I can send audio from separate layers to one channel in my DAW, but I want to make all processing inside the Maschine.

The sequencer works for me anyway. You dont know how to automate?

Record mute/solos would be nice yes.

Pad linking doesn't require any additional or different routing than the defaults and allows complex layering all inside Maschine. It seems that you would benefit from thinking of different Sounds as different layers and the Group as each of your sounds e.g., kicks, snares etc. I appreciate that you and other users want what they want though and that is, of course, fine. :)

You should look at Sample Magic Stacker or Sound Academy Kick 2 approach. That's what I meant.
I want to "glue" samples within ONE sound (one pad). Now I able to do it, but, in addition, I want to use independent ADSR envelopes and EQ's.

Fair enough. I get what you're asking, I'm just not quite clear yet why it's an advantage to have it on one Sound when you can control multiple Sounds from one page and pad already have much more flexibility and complexity in terms of layering.

(I'm genuinely interested, by the way, and not just trying to be contrary.)
