No Maschine does not know so ask somebody else or Google what the problems are. It's been covered time and time again.

In my opinion the pad link does the job but is not a very elegant solution. I would much rather work with different layers on a single pad. That way you can focus more on getting the 'kick' or 'snare' sound right with the different layers rather than juggling between different pads.

    My 2 cents

Would that not involved juggling between the layers though? This is partly my point from earlier: if you have control of Layer A and Layer B and their settings are on different pages, what's the benefit of it being all in one Sound? More options within one Sound could actually make the process more complicated too.

So glad to hear this. Key feature here is being able to record the loop while Maschine’s transport is stopped, and detecting the BPM from the loop length. A big part of my workflow, and I don’t think I’m alone in this, is picking up my guitar and noodling until I come up with a phrase I like, without a click or beat keeping time. I can then add drums, synths, resample the looped phrase, etc.

Right now I use Ableton’s Looper, with the settings on “record x bars” and “set tempo and start playback” which means I can play any length of riff into the Looper without counting the number of bars first. (This is especially important when jamming live with other musicians, where I can’t easily stop to count the bars and input them into the Looper plugin.)

Mobius has a similar capability. Its user manual even describes the formula it uses to calculate the BPM: http://www.circularlabs.com/doc/v2/synchronization.htm#Calculating The Tempo

Next on my agenda is to experiment with reconfiguring my setup with Maschine standalone running Mobius.

The less gear I have to futz with the better though, so I’m hopeful Maschine 2.7.something’s looping capabilities take this kind of workflow into account.

Can you guys please just give me one audio track in the next release that can go across the scenes. I want to collaborate with people using maschine and I need an audio track to do that. Your teasing me here with the loop functions and I think I heard you say your not interested in supplying a normal audio track. Why? It's simple. People want it, and it will make machine better for thousands of people. Can I at least do a work around with the new loop stuff your giving us to get audio across the project by slicing it up?

Is there an option to auto slice mode with this new audio plugin?
can I layout warped slices across the pads like in Ableton.

bit disappointed that this thread was started the day before Black Friday and lots of communication on the native instruments side hyping up Maschine.... then nothing since.

please show a video example of slicing mode within the new Audio plugin.

hope this is in the new version, implementing time stretch just for pre-cut loops would be is a major dissapointment

looking forward to native instruments reply.

will it be possible to preview loops with time stretch and start on bar ?

Yes! You can browse your loops, and they will play in sync with your project

To make it more clear: they are hot swappable, so you can load in a loop while your project is running, and this loop will be synced to the project. So you can audition loops in a nice way.
So the pre-hear function is not synced to your project, but loading an actual loop into the Audio Module is. Loading loops (and seeing their wave forms) is instant.

A song layer is coming although it doesn't specifically say audio will be included

    https://www.native-instruments.com/forum/threads/an-update-on-the-future-of-the-sequencer.308076/
This second improvement to arranging with Scenes is an effort to prepare the ground for a major addition to Maschine’s sequencer: The Song Layer. The high-level concept is a layer on top of the current Scene arranger, where Song Clips can be placed independent from Scene boundaries. So in the future, Patterns will stay in Scenes and Song Clips will be on the Song layer. It’s easy to turn a Pattern (also an auto-repeated Pattern) into a Song Clip and edit it on the Song layer. This makes it easy to have a one-bar Pattern repeat four times and have a little variation only on the fourth bar, for example. But it is also possible to build a backing track entirely out of Scenes (as one would do now) and then record new Song Clips over the entire length of the Song, or parts of it.

I am a new client since spring of native instruments, and for the moment, I am very happy with maschine. A couple of improvements that would be important to use live together with a jam and a kk, personally I'm not interested in timestretching, but the incorporation of audio is a great advance.

I would like for future improvements to be able to record complete performances and to do sampling to save the CPU and not to cut the sound in the middle of a pattern change.

Another thing that would be great is the possibility of turning it into a looper with external sounds, guitar, synthesizers, etc. to play live. That advance will be a big step forward for maschine. This, in reference to the audio.

Then I have a few improvements in mind, which I will be gathering to make a post. Serve or not at all, I will.

At the moment, happy with maschine, and I hope it improves much more.

Pd please add key zone (or key range) to play different sounds and layering.

It works for you, so pack up your bags NI, we are all done here! Whew, I bet it's such a relief for you guys that no more updates are needed!

In all seriousness though, CakeAlexS is right about all those things that need a fixin', but nonetheless it's good to see some progress, however slooowww that it's been.

Has NI any plans about offering loop libraries in the future in addition to Maschine Expansions?

    This!!!
I dearly hope this is still front and center in their priority list.
This and being able to record pattern changes, mutes etc

Love the new features coming up - and also love that they seem to be integrated nicely in a Maschine way. Quick question about time-stretched audio - and sorry if this has been answered already but - does the audio have to be trimmed to be a specific length or can I add any length of audio (and set / detect the original BPM) and have it perfectly match?

Also, that screenshot of gates on top of audio makes me wish we have some audio to midi functionality - it would be a great way to have fun with audio and loops.

afaik it has to match at the start cause there are no editing features yet and you can´t set the starting point of the sample but the end does not matter it can be longer or shorter as your scene, it is then just cutted or looped.

The answer to this seems elusive which is not a good sign. Can NI please just weigh in definitively? Safe to say this feature is not coming in 2.7?

    Presumably it must come later....

It´s not exactly what I am looking for.
First of all it´s nice that the render feature will use the new audio layer from 2.7 on, not the old sampler.
But I´d really appreciate if you could come up with a real Freeze option, where I don´t have to render each pattern individually until I can de-activate a CPU-demanding plugin. To do it just with a single click and with the possibility to undo - if I need to make changes to the sound later.
You know, the Ableton Live way of doing this ;-)
I assume that shouldn´t be hard to be integrated, as the software would just have to automatically do a number of predictable steps that I have to do manually now.
And a Freeze function is such a core functionality when producing music on a laptop....

Yo I requested this years ago and everybody jumped on my head.... All I heard was "Maschine is not a DAW! Maschine is not this Maschine is not that." Oh now years later yall happy. I was the first person to request vst integration too and people were on my head. "Oh that's what the Daw is for Maschine is more like an MPC" blah blah blah. So I got a Push 2. I thought the Maschine was a great idea just poorly executed yet still I give N.I all the praise for having the balls to do it. Shame nobody listens.... We said make a hardware version that doesn't need a computer. Akai made it.... I am an original MKI owner of Maschine. I just don't understand why you guys are so late on features I hate to group you with Avid but damn....N.I nals it on the sounds though. I just ordered the Kontrol S MKII. Swivel touch screens would have been awesome and I would have paid 2 to 3 hundred more for that feature by the way. I'll give you one more gem though... Kontrol S should be able to run Maschine like an ASR10....OK bye. One question I have though is why not use the jog wheel style knob like the MPC? Why does nobody understand how dope a jog wheel is?
