Try to use the "Knob 6" to move to a new part of your pattern. The padgrid should follow.

In the MK3 mode (with software), you can edit CC messages and ProgramChange. I often use it. Conveniently bind knobs and automate preset switching on external synthesizers. In Offline mode, I can not find where to do this. Is there such a possibility? Or will it only be in future firmware?

Who has a USB flash drive (not SD)? The manufacturer writes that it should work. It does not work for me. I tried to format it differently ... Production Systems : Maschine Plus : Specifications | Maschine 2020-10-28 05-02-45.jpg

Just read my questions carefully! You answered yours, but not mine ... I had a question - NOT an external SSD/HDD. Standard USB flash drive...
More important! Don't mislead others. Automation can be edited easily on M +! Show it to you?
The question is how to edit CC and ProgramChange! I do it easily in software. Managing a bunch of equipment! Machine + understands my settings (which I made in software). She reads them and reproduces them. But how to edit them directly in standalone? Either I haven’t found it or it’s not yet. This is a big oversight for anyone working with external synthesizers. We urgently need to do it!

Not for now. If it will come? Idk... probably, I doubt it will be soon tho.

Generally, it's the same thing, adding support to external HD's would also work for Flash drives... this is why they mention "external storage" in more general way instead of specifying the exact media. This was announced as an upcoming feature here:

By and large, I liked Masсhine+. I have been using NI Maschine for almost 10 years. They grew before my eyes. I have been using Akai and their samplers with MPC since the beginning of the 90s. My first sampler was Akai 2000 (when it came out new) ... I have not modest experience of using it. I want to say my main conclusion: Akai was blown away today ... I remember Akai Live and Akai X as a bad dream ... (not to mention their controllers released before that ...). Software has never been Akai's strong suit. NEVER in the last 20 years! If not for third-party software developers, Akai MPC would not have been so popular. It's 100%! Previously, the purchase of the MPC was - the purchase of the device itself + the purchase of a third-party firmware ... Thanks to the enthusiasts who made firmware on the MPC! But Akai's build quality was always on top! Mostly very sturdy equipment. NI had problem - the quality of the device itself. This applies not only to Machines, but the Tractor, etc. ... It was already customary that NI is an excellent software and poor assembly of the controller ... MK3 turned out to be quite good... Machines + just looks great and is pleasant in the hand !
I am glad that today it allows you to do a lot. And I'm sure there will be a lot more to come in firmwares in the future. Akai Live was a disaster for me for the first 9 months of use ... Against this background, the problem of Machines + only children's pranks ...

This is my old review of Akai Live. I compare there with NI Maschine and Elektron Octatrack.

Here I tell in detail how I work with Maschine and sampling from external equipment. What conclusions and developments have I come to over the years in this matter. Don't blame me for not being English ... But I think general questions will be clear and so ...

Thanks for the answer. In principle, I'm not ready to whine about this ... I'll wait. Hope not for long. Not the way Akai expected :))))))

Therefore, I am communicating with you through Google Translator. So bear with me :) . Sorry for the inconvenience..

When using the M+ as a controller for the software, it seems that the USB ports in the back get disabled? Is this normal behviour?
It's a pity if you can't use it as a USB hub when connected, having to plug stuff back and forth between the M+ and the computer is not convenient.

It's a weird decision when you think about seamless integration with the software. I also hope it will be fixed. Feature request?

To be honest, this shouldn't be a high priority when compared with bugfixes, stability, hardware keyboard support, and additional instruments support.

Speaking of bugs, is anybody using the M+ as master clock and slaving other sequencers or drum machines? I find that the M+ provides a tight midi clock but not consistently compared to the Octatrack or the SP-16. I experience audible lag/drift with a few sequencers I have, slaved to the M+ (Avalon, Erica DB-01). These are otherwise super tight if slaved to the SP-16 clock for example. And in turn the SP-16 is super tight slaved to the M+... weird behavior here.
