it's the one from about 2002...I accidentally destroyed mine and need one for opening some old projects in OS 9. I'd be happy to pay a reasonable amount.

I don't know what exact version it is but I have such a disc to offer, looks similar to yours. There are two dots (copy protection I guess) on the surface if that makes any sence to you.

mine had those also, and I believe NI confirmed that they were copy-protected when I asked about them. I never saw anyone else using the dot method, though! Do you have any idea what you'd need to get for the disk? thanks!

I can't send PM's yet on this forum as my post count is not high enough. However if possible you could email me at:

    jnyb@optonline.net

    thanks!

for some reason the "@" symbol has been replace by the word "AT" in my email address, but it should be obvious what to do...

Man, figure out how to become a "from now on I can write pm"-member. I guess this will happen with 10 postings or such.

If you answer to this, you will have 8 postings on your counter, think about it.

Sheesh, now I had to figure it had to be a minimum of 20 posts before you're able to write a pm. But if we made a talk out of this it will be pretty easy. ;-)

Why do you think it is better to get an old CD instead of upgrading to B4II and convert your old projects? Is there a problem or a benefit? Or is there a problem loading the project files without the CD / copy protection? It's too long ago I used this CD as I had the opportunity to upgrade to a newer B4 version, the CD was not longer needed for authentication.

Hay I wonder if you can use the original B4 tonewheel sets in B4 II, and if so, I wonder if that would make B4 II sound like the original B4...?

Nope B4II won't load B4II's TW0 files are different to B4's TWC and TWS files, also the distortion in B4II is different to B4

Didn't knew this. Last time I used the B4 is some time ago and I'm new to the B4II. Do I have to expect surprises? :)

combination of things, first of all if I have to open an old project in Logic (like for remixing or reworking an old song) it asks me for the B4 disk and often freezes the application or hangs up, forcing a "force quit" and/or a restart. Secondly I can't see the setting that was used (Whiter Shade, Old Scanner, etc., etc.) so if I'm trying to recreate a mix I'm just guessing if I use another organ, like the one in Logic or whatever. Thirdly it is a matter of principle with me that I paid for the product and have a license, yet can't get a replacement CD from NI. It's certainly not the end of the world but aggravating nonetheless.
