I hate to start another recording thread, but I've read through many threads, and it's difficult to figure out because everyone has different setups. I have a Denon DNX600 mixer with a built in sound card which I am running Traktor Pro 2. I am using the sound card from my mixer via USB. What do I need to do here to get the recording working properly?

I tried choosing "internal" under the recording options since the sound card is built into the mixer, but that does not work.

I also tried setting channel C to 7 and 8 of input routing, and then choosing channel C under recording, but no dice. I was reading that somebody said I need to run a cable from record out to my sound card, but the sound card is built in and i'm running it via USB, so I feel this should be fairly simple and I'm just not thinking it through correctly.

When I choose interal mixing mode, everything is recorded except for the effects on my mixer, but there is a send/return FX function on the mixer.... not sure how that works? It also doesn't split the channels properly at all, so something is wrong lol.

    Help would be sincerely appreciated.

is that mixer setup with external mixing mode in traktor?

if so, you would have to connect the master out to the soundcard, but since it's internally in the mixer, i'm not sure how the setup works - some similar devices have then traktors internal recording function enabled, but i'm not sure how this works with your mixer.

if no one can help here, pls contact NI and denon support!

Hey man thanks for the reply, it seems tricky to record with an internal soundcard mixer, or there's probably just a trick I don't know about. One would imagine with how advanced these technologies are, that I could just record the "what you hear" since the soundcard is built in, but i guess that's just too damn simple.

I use my desktop PC to mix, so I'll just run an RCA out from somewhere on the mixer into a channel of my desktop soundcard and record it that way, though that will still take some figuring out, and I'm not sure which channel I'd have an RCA running out of the mixer from.

they're all handling it a lil bit different, so that's why there's no general rule :-/
and i dont know that mixer "personally"...

most mixers do have sth like a "record out". you can use this.

btw, did you try the denon forum? in bet some ppl over there know!
