    Hey Everyone,
Guess I'm new here although i've been visiting regularly since i started using Traktor, i never really felt the need to sign up, being honest It became more habit to check up on the newest horror stories with the S4 week by week :(

Up until now i've considered myself one've the lucky few who didn't experience a single problem with his S4 but I'm starting to have my doubts about the product now which is a shame because i've really enjoyed using it!

    Anyway, the Problem:
Last used the unit saturday 2 days ago (12th feb), nothing too out of the ordinary, nothing too 'heavy' or wild for about an hour, left it, no problems!

Tonight, started it up as normal, loaded my tracks and let deck A (left) play out, Went to start up deck B and the song wouldn't start but the beat sync display above the wave display was flying across mad - as if i had the platter pressed and was holding the track!
Couldn't understand why on earth it was happening so shut down the program and hardware and rebooted - same problem but still, only on deck B
After about 20 minutes tapping and nudging the jog wheel gently to see if it would 'free' it up i decided to remove the top plate to take a closer look - Nothing, no dirt, no dust nothing but when i sat the top plate back on the jog wheel BEFORE CLICKING BACK INTO PLACE the deck began to play again!
"Great" i thought, "i'll just click it back in and problem solved!"
    Problem back - straight away

    Unclicked - Track would play
    Click - track would stop

Switched platters out of curiousity to see what part was actually at fault and the top plates didn't make any difference switched, both decks behaved the same which leads me to assume the 'push sensor' (guessing) is gone faulty in my unit?

Or has anyone else encountered this problem and found a solution?
I don't and never had used the S4 for Commercial use and it's never left the table in my Room where i use it. All Software and Drivers are upto date and i'm using the latest MacBook Pro 13

Thanks to anyone who can help and SORRY for being so Long winded!

did you recalibrate the jogs? it's the typical scenario what you are describing

Yea i tries recalibrating the jog wheels but that only seems to concern the rotation of the wheel from what i can see, i've looked up as many problems as i can find on it and this but this definately feels like a hardware issue as when the top plate is clicked back into position it feels like it has slightly less spring then the left platter.

Have you followed the instructions in the Sticky at the top of the forum on removing and reattaching the Jog Plate.

Also, recalibrating does not always work first time. If there are still issues you should recal again. It fixes most issues.

If you have no help to offer i strongly suggest you cease trolling these forums.
This is a direct rule break.

I did - religiously to be fair and it does feel like it's secure in every tab under the plate but again, for whatever reason i can't see, its Still not springing back the same as the left plate.

I will try recalibrating a few more times so, can you tell me, do you know does the recalibration affect the sensor that picks up the pushing down on the platter also cause this is the only issue

Just to clear up also, I'm not dissing the build quality or the unit, i quite like it still, i'd just really like it working right again!
