Any Logic and Midi knowledge

Hey everybody,
I have had my maschine for a while and i have been using it with logic.
I basically use machine as a sampler, so after i play my sample how i want to i just drag-n-drop it to logic as a sound file. But since I have the 1.1 update I have been trying to record the midi directly to logic. It surely recognizes the sound coming from maschine but I havent been able to record the MIDI information at all.

If anybody could help me solve these issues I would really appreciate it.

so you are trying to use the Maschine Controller to record MIDI into Logic, yes/no?

if yes, press Shift + Control on the Maschine Controller, this will make it behave like a MIDI Keyboard. press Shift + Control again to have the Controller work with the Maschine Software similar to Standalone Mode.

Well not really. I apologize for the confusion. I know that if i change it to the midi controller mode it will control logic but, for example, if I have a drum kit loaded in Maschine,switching to the MIDI control mode it turn only the selected pad into a "MIDI KEYBOARD". I am saying i want to use maschine the same way you use with Battery where you just play the drums in there and it will register all the midi information in logic (which I can do with Maschine in MIDI control mode). Does that make more sense?
I dont even know if it is possible yet but since there is a midi out i thought it could be possible.

well they have addressed the issue

as an example:

1/ load the 909 kit.
2/ click on an empty Pattern
3/ click on the the Group drop down and choose Sounds MIDI Batch Setup
4/ choose Sounds To MIDI Notes and Root Note of C1 and Apply
5/ Press Shift + Control on the Maschine Hardware Controller.... you should have a default Template ?
6/ Press Group button C .... that will make the Pads play the correct Octave that you selected when you chose C1 as the Root Note

you will need at least version 1.1 to do this. fwiw, i am using the 1.5 beta version.

Sowari your right it does registers midi notes but it wont play back. Its just fortunate that in the video it seems to work flawless with DAW's like protools and cubase, but when it comes to Logic it's a nightmare. I just want to be able to just plugin like Battery 3 and start working. I don't want to have to drop an drag midi events that I cant even automate in my DAW. I just feel cheated. Had I known there was this many issues I probably would have went another route. Im out $600 bucks and waiting for you guys to come up with an update that will hopefully address this issue. :angry:
So let me guess I would have to shell out another 400 bucks for Kore 2 in order to play it as a VST?

first of all, i need to remind you - and everyone here - that i don't work for NI.

secondly the AU issue with sending MIDI has got nothing to do with NI, it is a problem with AU plugins. Apple need to address this.

and what exactly do you mean just plugin Battery and start working. please be specific about your issue, because i don't think you have ever clarified what it is.

you say it does registers midi notes but it wont play back. what won't play back? please give details of what you are trying to do.

why don't you want to Drag n Drop MIDI? that is how Ultrabeat works. with the 1.5 Public Beta Update, you can Automate Maschine in Logic using the Macros.

@meloblanco I gotta say, I feel you on the frustration. But it's no Native Instruments' issue. Like sowari said, it's Apple and their damn proprietary b.s. AU system! If you've noticed, these instruments work great in other DAWs. So if everyone but Logic is having it work properly, the problem isn't everyone else. The problem is Logic.

I'm pissed I dropped that kind of cheese on Logic Studio, when I should have went with Protools. I love Logic on it's own. It's a great DAW. But it DOES NOT play well with others.
