I have the older model (1.33GHz) and have toured with it, pluging into many different systems and only had minor issues.

Most of the isses were related the hardware at the venue (old un-serviced turntables, dodgy mixers, etc) or user error (opps... that's the wrong side of the record...).

There are a few issues with the software (both on the PC and the Mac), but these are minor....

    See this post here:
    http://www.nativeinstruments.de/site/forum_us/showpost.php?p=191592&postcount=182

A lot of major issues people run into with FS can probably be tracked back to what jeremygray mentions in this post.
Aside from that there are occasional things that pop up, but most of them are things you can work around or learn to adjust to.
Not saying that thats the way it should be, but to my knowledge there is no perfect software.
You might also want to take into account that there are several of us here that use FS/TDJS every weekend in live situations...if it sucked that wouldn't be the case.

Thanks for your comments Mal1ce. However, i forgot to mention that i would only be using Final scratch2 not any other native instruments' products.

Anymore advice about Mac's would be most appreciated!

Best way to have a stable Mac system is to run TFS on a seperate partition from your day-to-day OS. This way you can disable (or not bother instaling) many things that you don't need duriong live performance.

I have mine set-up like this. Minimal OS installed, only ever install updates once I have tested them on my day-to-day OS. No networking (Airport and Bluetooth turned off). Processor always set to max perfornace (even on battery). No other apps installed that are not needed.

    Works for me.

Not sure how helpful my reply will be to you since I use TDJS and not FS2, but I have the same machine as you are considering to buy and I haven't had any problems at all since I bought the Powerbook in July.
I don't even have a seperate partion/system and use the machine for everything from producing music and playing with TDJS to surfing the web and gaming. It just keeps on ticking without even so much as a hick-up :-D
