I can't seem to figure it out. Music stops once the track ends. Doesn't go to next track in the playlist automatically if you need to step away. Thanks.

    Welcome.

In the current version there is no Cruise/Auto Play mode.

I do not know if it will be implemented in the future.
As we are at version 1 of the app there are many features that may or may not be added.

That is a crazy omission. This is a basic function on just about every DJ and mixer software. In every other area the app comes out on top, but with this vital omission and pretty much renders it obsolete for my use as a dance teacher that cannot always get back to the ipad to press play for every track. Disappointed
    :(

I use Traktor on my laptop for main events. I had to put up with djay on my iPad for smaller weekly class setup. I was so please to see Traktor bring out an app. I spent ages looking for auto / cruise mode. I cannot believe this simple function has been left out. This app is ideal for the numerous dance teachers out there, but the lack of autoplay spoils it. Please add this in the next update.
    Frustrated :S

"This app is ideal for the numerous dance teachers out there, but the lack of autoplay spoils it." - If you want to listen to a playlist, you can use the Music app(which comes by default and pre-installed on every iPad) to create and play back your playlist.

There are many classes for Salsa, Ceroc, Tango, West Coast Swing etc. where is very useful to run a list of tracks, but be able to pre listen when needing to line up new tracks without disturbing the dancers. Apart from that, I just don't understand why NI left out such a basic and very useful function.

You can use the App "djay"! There is the possibility to auto mix a playlist or a directory you choose and of course you can pre listen (with a necessary audio cable) to the next song.

I have been using djay. It is OK, but not very good at handling playlists. That is why I went for the familiar Traktor. I wished I had looked this up before purchasing. Hopefully NI will add an auto play option in an upgrade.

IMHO it's very easy to use the playlists from iTunes. In the latest version you can save your "history" and export it to iTunes as well. Very nice feature. But you are right NI should of course implement it.

Thanks Sasha. I just purchased a copy of DJay 2. You are right. They have made a lot of improvements. The playlist handling is now nothing short of awesome. I love they way you can line up tracks for auto play and and see them on the same page as the rest of your playlists. Still on the same page, you can pre listen to any track. No longer having to wait until it is on the deck. I am not into all the fancy effects. They are not required for our social dancers. I just want to create cool playlists and pre listen to get the right order. BUT, even I started to and some effects and record them. I still like Traktor, but I think DJay 2 has stolen the march on them now. Hopefully NI will step up with updates. We all benefit in the long run.

You are welcome. I think you don't have to choose only one dj software. You are not wearing only one kind of trousers, do you? ;) So take the best of both depending on your requirements. So, have fun with djay and Traktor ;)
