    Hi,
I have bought a Maschine from someone on Ebay and they are completely refusing to give me the serial that goes with the hardware.
It was listed as 'No Software' not 'No Serial'. If it had been the later I wouldnt have touched it with a barge pole!
Anyway, the seller is not accepting returns and is genuinely not being helpful at all, so i'm desperately trying to get the Maschine that I now own up and running.
I was wondering, is there anyone out there that would be prepared to sell me just the software and serial?

Doubt you'll find anyone here (but you never know). I would check over on KVR forum and keep checking eBay.

If the seller wrongly advertised the product, ebay/paypal will force to seller to accept the return.

It's a grey area though. "No software" could easily mean "no seriel".

I agree (I would read no software as meaning no serial number as the software can always be downloaded). I would have to see the original ebay listing to decide whether or not the item had been wrongly described.

    Hey, thanks for your responses.
Yup, I pretty much agree that it's a grey area and that no software could equally mean no serial...

Here is the text from the original ebay listing:

Fully operational Maschine MK2. Used but in good condition (some signs of light use, but nothing major).
Listing includes the Maschine MK2, the usb cable, the box and some Native Instruments stickers. No software included.

I took this as meaning that the Maschine would be 'fully operational' and that the 'software' could simply be downloaded. I even had a message from the seller after I had won the auction checking that I was aware that I was buying the device without 'software'. This was the sellers message:

"Before I post it, can I just confirm that your happy that the MK2 comes with no software and I'm only sending the hardware controller + cable (as described in the ad)?"

    To which I responded:

"Yup, that sounds cool with me.
I have a copy of Komplete 10 anyway and I guess I can download the relevant software I need from the NI website when I register the device."

At this point the seller DID NOT tell me I wasnt getting the device serial to register the device...

I'm going to try to send this back and hope I have a good enough reason for the return. The device is not, as stated, fully operational.

    Thanks again.
    Have a good day.

A while back I read that Komplete 10 comes with a Maschine 2 licence. I never looked into it as I already owned Maschine 2 before I got Komplete 10.

Might be worth checking out (it may be that it is only an upgrade from the Maschine 1.x versions)

Sorry but I think it is pretty clear. It does not say it includes a serial number and why would it, when it includes no software to be activated. "Fully operational" does not mean fully functional, and this statement is pointing towards the hardware and not the software. I hope it works out but I don't think you have a leg to stand on.

That's what I read! It doesn't come with Komplete 10 straight out of the box, but is complimentary for people that aren't on Maschine 2 yet. It may have been a limited time thing though

Not a grey area to me. I agree with CakeAlexS. It's clear from the listing this is just for the hardware. If you were not sure you should have asked. In fact, when buying a used Maschine you should always make sure the listing specifically says it includes both software and serial. Otherwise assume it is just hardware.
You can list it for sale explaining it is only for hardware and purchase another. Or, as someone mentioned you can place an add over at KVR for a software license. This is not the place to sell or request to buy and is against forum rules.

    Closing.
