Since Traktor is so light on CPU I wonder if/how it can run on those ULV CPU notebooks (not to confuse with netbooks). I am tempted to get one of those Vaio carbon fibre boxed ultraportable. I would buy it for performance use (Traktor only) but they are too expensive to risk buying and finding out it chokes. With 1-2 faderfoxes and Indigo Xpress card it could be ideal portable solution.

ULV should not be the problem for you, its purely whether it has the horsepower to run Traktor. I know a guy who took Traktor demo in a USB stick down to Best Buy to test drive a few systems before he bought one. Helped him avoid buying into a bios induced DPC latency problem on a Sony he liked.

Oh. that makes me curious. What was it? Took me ages and lucky accident to make my Vaio reduce DPC. I mean for Traktor it was OK anyway, at least with Indigo (TC Konnekt would freeze for a sec every now end then). Then found out about idiotic Nvidia utility that scans every 20-30 sec to see if you attached or not ext monitor. Once I kicked that byatch out (there were 2 or 3 Nvidia entries in autostart) the DPC dropped by 500!.
Still it could be better, tested same machine on XP and it was 20x less, now is 10x. Still room for improvement.
So any idea what that BIOS thing was ?

I have my doubts too if there is enough power in C2D 1.2 ULV, if I dont get confirmation from real Traktor user then must wait for Core2Duo 1.4-1.6 ULVs.

ACPI BIOS - Battery polling problem, old issue for us on the forums. Sony Toshiba Dell and HP (among others have all had their share of problems in this area. You have to disable the ACPI battery functions in device mangler to get the DPCs to stop.
