If anyone has any other suggestions/tips that is running Sierra with the Z2 please let me know. I've tried every troubleshoot on Ni's Site. Z2 will not send any midi to Traktor. Faders, knobs nor any buttons work. This is a new Mac. All firmware is updated. Z2 still works properly with old mac running 2.8. So i don't believe it's a mixer issue.

Please file this with Technical Support - I haven't seen that 'INVALID' warning before.
I have 2 Macs on Sierra working perfectly with the Z2.

The answer for this might be in the "Audio MIDI Setup" app in the /Applications/Utilities/ folder. I don't know exactly what to do but compare the app settings on both computers. Good luck.

Had the same issue... How i solved this problem:

    1. Open Controller Editor first and it will usually seem like its freezing for about 10-15 min...
    2. Once Controller Editor is fully open... Try to press the connect button on the top left to your Z2 mixer...
    3. While Controller Editor is still open, Make sure you exit and close Traktor...
    4. Once Traktor is closed. Quit Controller Editor then open up Traktor again...
    5. At this point your Mac should recognize your Z2... if not yet, you may have to repeat steps 1-4 one more time...

    Hope this helps...

I'm having this exact same problem, been chatting with support and they told me they've never heard of this issue (so I thought it was just my Mac, until I just saw your post), I also have the brand new Mac running on IOS High sierra, did the control editor sort out this issue ?, even if this is the case and it gets it to work this must be a software saving issue I think ?

Traktor Kontrol USB Issues with Mid 2015 MacBook Pro Simple Fix.
I just bought a Mid 2015 15 inch MacBook Pro with Retina Display with 2 USB 3.0, macOS High Sierra Version 10.13.6.
After install Traktor Pro 3 & connecting my Kontrol Z2, I noticed the mixer was not lighting up & was flickering on & off, when connected directly to USB 3.0 on the MacBook Pro. I tried both USB 3.0 Ports to see, If there was an issue with the USB's. Got the same result. I searched for solutions on NI for possible issues with the Kontrol Z2 USB problem & no real solutions.

The issue is obviously with the USB 2.0 cable for the Kontrol Z2 & the USB 3.0 on the MacBook Pro not being able to power or recognize the Kontrol Z2 directly. I used my Belkin USB 3.0 3-Port Hub with Gigabit Ethernet Adapter Model: B2B128tt & was able to get the Kontrol Z2 to power up & was able to use the mixer without any issues. I bought 2 other smaller USB Hubs & they did not work (Audio & External Hard Drive Issues).

I did perform another check to verify that there wasn't an issue with the USB 3.0 ports on the MacBook Pro, I just bought. I connected my Pioneer DDJ SX2 Controller directly to the USB port on the MacBook Pro & there was no issues powering & playing on the controller. I also, have a 2017-18 MacBook Pro 13 inch with USB Type C & I have to use a USB Hub with Type C to connect & used the Kontrol Z2. No Issues powering & using the mixer with that computer. Nor with my Dell Computer with the Kontrol Z2 plugged directly to the USB port, But the Dell does have a CPU power spike issue, I can't find a way to resolve.

The main reason, I bought the Mid 2015 15 inch MacBook Pro with Retina Display with 2 USB 3.0 was get away from using a USB Hub & be able to plug directly to USB on the computer. Now, Even with the new computer, I'm having to use a USB Hub to connect the Kontrol Z2.

This is the only solution to this issue, right now for me & anyone else, Who would like to try it. Somehow the USB 3.0 Ports on this MacBook Pro is not backwards complaint with USB 2.0 Cable supplied with the Kontrol Z2. I don't like using Serato, but the controllers for Serato work with none of these issues.

    Hope this helps....

PS - Native Instruments, Please address this issue & reach out to Apple to resolve this issue or Update the USB Cable for the Kontrol Z2.
Also, Provide Traktor Users with new mixers & controllers that can compete with SERATO or integrate & used with PIONEER.... PLEASE!!!!

    Best Regards,
