I shot my mouth off recently in another post and want to apologize for that,so... I'm sorry !

Maybe I can start over. I have ordered Battery 3 (academic) and it is currently backordered for a few more days. There seems to be quite a bit of difficulty with this version and I'm looking for advice on whether or not I cancel and try to find Battery 2 ? Are there people successfully running Battery 3 on a Windows Xp box ? I realize that on forums like this, one sees more of the problems than the successes.

    Thanks,
    Dan

Thank you --- I will be using it with Sonar 6. Are you experiencing any problems at all with B3 and Sonar ? Any of the problems others seem to be having with other hosts ?

Any chance you would answer my second question ewistrand ? You answered my first question, but I followed it with a second. Given that you use Sonar as a host, I was wondering if there were any specific issues. My copy of B3 is arriving at my house today.

    Thanks,
    Dan

I'm sorry; I forgot about this thread.

Personally, I haven't seen any issues. I don't have long loading times, my CPU runs about 5% per instance if I'm not using the convolution reverb (it goes up to 15% or so if I am) and I've never had a crash with either Battery 2 or 3, either as a VST or as a DXi.

I am not a "power" user, but have run a couple of projects using B3 in Sonar6 PE with no trouble.
I added a second instance of B3 to a little project this morning just to see what it did to CPU, and it made little difference. The project also has ToxicIII, Psyn2, and Z3ta running. Max CPU was about 35%. I have a dual amd with 2Mb of memory.
I dont know if it makes much difference, but I have my programmes on C: drive, but keep the sonar projects, and the B3 libraries, on my second internal drive.
I have had little trouble generally (I have Komplete 4) apart from the Service Centre problems everyone had initially. But then I dont push my software to its limits (I dont know enough about it all to do that!).
    Good luck with B3

    Hi,

Im also using Battery3 very successfully in Live 5.0. Took me a while to get used to the interface as I was really used to Battery2. Now Im used to it, the workflow is amazingly quick and easy.

It takes a while, but stick with it and it will be worth it.
