Hey Peeps! I was looking to use an Apple Lightning To USB 3 Camera Adapter (below) to connect my S2 to my iPad Air 2, but can't get the controls to work: I only get sound through the S2; buttons/lights are unresponsive. Does anyone have experience using this adapter or have any words of wisdom?

Not sure about the new ones with the lightning slot, but on the previous camera connection kit, I often had to have it connected to a USB hub in order for it to be recognized properly. Most peripherals will behave better if the hub is powered, taking the load off of the ipad to have to power whatever device you have connected.

Thanks - that's interesting. I tried plugging an iPad charger into the lightning port of this one (while separately powering the S2 via its own AC adapter), but that didn't change anything: controls still didn't work. What kind of controller were you able to use with the old camera connection kit?

I used to use an Akai MPD 32 with Beatmaker. Never tried anything with Traktor DJ. Is this the new S2? or the old? the new (mk 3) apparently doesn't support iOS just yet but apparently drivers for it are coming... (I wonder if there will be more universal support now that the new iPad's have USB-C)

I'm trying to connect a S2 Mk2. it sounds like a lot of other controllers (like your Akai) do work with the Apple camera connection kit; for some reason, Traktor controllers seem to be more fussy :(

TDJ never (!) worked with any CCK (even not needed) it only supports NI devices (A2, Z1, S2mk2, S4mk2) if you use the dedicated cables for TDJ (charging iPad too), keep in mind: it is not a standard midi over usb protocol ;)

Detail (regarding S2): i speak about mk2 model (mk1 model is not supported, and i assume the new mk3 also not supported with current (older) TDJ, at least on official NI website they removed any TDJ compatibility links).
