    Hi all,

I am new to this, will be ordering a new mac and a z1/f1/x1 setup this week. Just a quick question - In the current version of Traktor 3.3 - how will I be able to sync my Apple Music Library w Traktor (please note: I have never bought tracks from iTunes) so I will be starting new on Apple music, since I believe you can only download tracks from Apple music now and not buy them on iTunes anymore , how will this work? Will downloads be playable in Traktor or I have to buy tracks from somewhere else?

    Please advise urgently!

    Thank you :)

You can't use "Apple Music" (non-purchased) music in DJ apps. There is still an iTunes store.

Thanks - my understanding is that you can do that, if you haven't subscribed to Music for now. My concern is it might be or is being phased out soon, so once iTunes functionality fully disappears, is there a proposed workaround? Only purchased songs that appear in Music can be exported via xml correct? I am guessing that downloading individual songs via beatport and then adding that manually into traktor might be another workaround?

Personally, I doubt Apple is abandoning music sales anytime soon. I am not worried. And if they do, I doubt they would immediately remove management of non-Apple Music files. (But who knows? o_O)

And if it does happen, you can always import files directly into Traktor without having to use the Music app. That integration is just a convenience for those that use the Music app.

No. iTunes was renamed Apple Music Mac, but it is still the same program.
    It works much the same.
It appears in the same spot in traktor.
I have not heard that this will change.
If they’d abandon the old iTunes, I’d switch completely to Spotify.
    They know this.
I can listen to my music collection, which is only mp3s and aiffs, from the Music app on the iphone.
I’m a Dj, we’re not few, and using itunes/apple music as the core of a music library still keeps a lot of us on apple.
    So I would not worry.
If this changes, you can use apps like mixo to migrate your collection to other formats, Traktor, Rekordbox or other.
Mixo makes itunes unneccesary as a center.
I don’t use it yet, since I don’t need to.
But this is only for a file collection.
If you want to stream music, you have to use beatport/beatsource.
There is no general streaming service for traktor, like tidal, yet. And you can’t use Apple Music’s streaming files, just your mp3s and other purchased/downloaded files, plus the beatport/beatsource streaming collections, if you chose to subscribe to that.
