Appropriate plug-in was not found

Hi,

I just installed the komplete kontrol plugin on my mac (with Logic Pro X 10.2). When I select a sound within the komplete kontrol, I receive the message: "Appropriate plug-in was not found." If I open the plugin like for example kontakt separately, then it works well.
Does anyone have the same issue and how to fix it?

I had the same problem in garageband, and unfortunately, no one had a solution for me. I ended up buying Logic Pro X and it miraculously worked! If you check out my other thread, I talk about things that I tried and also what NI tech support told me to do. You can try those things. Also you are hopefully still on Yosemite, and not El Capitan because of AU validation issues in Logic.

I would try the following.

1. make sure you have the latest versions of everything
2. All updates for everything
3. Run Kontrol in standalone mode before trying it inside of a DAW
4. Delete your db3logger.log, db3tracer.log, plugin.data (for Windows both 32 and 64 files) and komplete.db3 files, then run Kontrol in standalone mode and it will rebuild

If none of this works for you then you can try deleting and reinstalling any NI stuff. I tried several times from a fresh install to no avail, which included erasing my HD and reformatting, then clean OS install, followed by DAW, then NI software.

I tried both Yosemite and El Cap operating systems.

I can tell you that I finally got it to work with Yosemite V10.10.5 and Logic Pro X V10.2.0

I never got a helpful answer as to why this particular error occurs, but if you solve your issue, please post your solution so that it might help others.

I fixed it:
This was for me the way to go:

1. download and install Clean my mac 3 http://macpaw.com/cleanmymac
2. remove with the clean my mac app only komplete kontrol
3. reinstall komplete kontrol 1.1
4. open logic pro x
5. start the plugin
6. close logic pro x
7. update to 1.2
8. reopen logic pro x
   
9. IT works ;-)

 

Glad it worked. I'll bet clean my mac would have fixed my problem with Garage Band - I didn't even consider this option.

 

And that was a wise decision, because such apps usually cause more trouble, than they solve.

 

@Aymara: That's a good point one always needs to take into consideration - a full backup should be performed before attempting any such action. What TomGa's fix tells me though is that there is a file that somehow is getting corrupted, or there are mapping issues if you fresh install from 1.2. How, or at what point that happens I don't know. It seems that he ran it in an earlier version first, before upgrading. I could be wrong about that part of it, but it is plausible, and definitely worth considering for anyone else who may run into this issue.

 

Usually such issues are avoidable, when running every instrument, that has it's own icon, standalone after each update and then afterwards do the same with KK before using it in a DAW.

I always did that, both on Windows and OSX, and never had such issues.

 

Had the same issue, seems that KK 1.5 deleted my VST paths and reset them to default. As there were no VSTs (both NI and 3rd party), I had to define the vst paths again, did a rescan and that's it.

 

i am on Windows 7 x64 anyone knows how to solve this problem ?

Is this in Logic or machine...I went here in logic and did a reset and rescan....no luck

So I tried here in maschine and did a rescan..
and still the sounds do not work in logic? any ideas?

have you run Maschine 1.8.2 in Standalone Mode?

you also need to make sure Maschine 1.8.2 is running in 64 Bit Mode.

when you say everything was running fine until you 'installed Maschine' please clarify what you mean?

and 'Every plugin has to be updated before' that means all the Komplete 10 plugins need to be updated to their current versions.

oh ok sorry yes it does sound confusing.
Machine works fine in stand alone mode...;As yet i have not tried running it in logic pro x But from the time i installed machine on my computer the Komplete Kontrol sounds in logic will not work and give this error (See pic)

I've got the exact same problem as Rodders999...

Machine as stand alone program works just fine! But in Logic X my Komplete Kontrol give's me the error "appropriate plug in was not found."
Everything is up to date.... and before the mac el capitan it worked just fine.

Massive although is working in Logic X but nog exactly how it should. Normally in the "attributes" tab, i can select some instruments and end up with the sounds that match my choices. But now nothing happens.. Things get selected but get no results..

have you downloaded the recent Massive update?

download and install it and run it in Standalone Mode before you use it in Komplete Kontrol or Logic.

please check your Service Centre, there have been some resent updates for Massive , Absynth, FM8 and Reaktor.
