Are some of the Komplete Ultimate instruments incompatible with the Mikro?

I am confused - I have recently bought a Maschine MK3 Mikro, S49 Keyboard and Komplete 12 Ultimate - Some of the instruments don't work with the Mikro and I don't understand why (they don't appear in the library|) - Some - like Drum Labs work on the Mikro - but you have to play them in keyboard mode rather than Pad mode and this doesn't make much sense. Something else I don't understand is knowing which effects (like Guitar Rig) can be used with which instruments - is there a way to understanding this and their product placement generally?

Which instruments? I'm using an Mk3 and I'm aware of some stuff not showing up in the default browser but I always assumed that this was done because the instrument wasn't fully compatible with Maschine (so: not easily configurable from the controller). But they can be loaded eitherway using the plugin mode, this will also cover NI plugins.

Dunno about drum lab, never tried it so far, but from what I read it should work with some ease. Of course it still lives within Kontakt so that could have something to do with it.

Thanks for your response. I find the product placement by NI quite confusing. As someone new to the suite of products it’s hard to understand the difference between plugins etc, like Kontakt Vs Kontrol.

I don’t think I have a plug-in mode on the Mikro - just Pad, Keyboard, Chord and Midi mode. Is there no way to contact NI after sales support?

Sorry for the confusion, I wasn't referring to actual playing modes but the browser. Which is already limited on the Mikro so you might want to stick to your PC for this. There you should have an option to check for plugins, aka vsts. Such as Kontakt. Load it and you should be able to configure it (like loading a specific device).

There are some people from NI here and there's always support I guess.

Which instrument does not show up in the Library? Give examples.
A common confusion for new users.

Drum Labs is a Kontakt Instrument, it's designed to work in any software that supports VST/AU, it was not designed specifically for Maschine.
In Maschine, Instruments are meant to be used in Keyboard Mode, the same goes for all drum instruments out there, they dont work plug-and-play with Pad Mode like Maschine's internal Sampler module does... You can, however, set it up to do so it does but there are pros and cons about doing that.

    Read more here: https://www.native-instruments.com/...ng-sounds-within-a-group.346355/#post-1740669

You can use Guitar Rig or any other FX with anything you want...

    Kontakt is an advanced Sampler.
Komplete Kontrol is an Instrument "holder" if-you-will... It's job is to make Kontakt (or other NI products) have advanced functions that communicate with the KK-S keyboards, it's what makes all the Keyboard functions work like the Lights, Scales, etc... KK is built into Maschine so you dont need to load it if you're using Maschine standalone app.

There is... But I doubt they will teach you how to use the software and hardware... Read the manuals, watch videos, ask questions here, etc and you will get there.

Hi - Thanks for your response. Most of the instruments are not displayed in the browser - for example - Kinetic Toys, the Scarbee basses or Studio Drummer for instance are not available. Do you know why these are not displayed?

Is there a reference out there to understand how all the various NI products work together? It's confusing and a little opaque to new users.

When you say 'Browser' are you referring to the browser on the screen of the controller?
TBH I never learned how to use the Mikro Mk3 browser, it's pretty much 100% useless to me, if I am using the Mikro I just browse from the computer... But I do see presets for all those instruments, but afaik there's no way to select an Instrument and browse only it's presets from the controller, you have to select it from the software first.. (i could be wrong tho)

A Mikro + KK12 + S49 is a lot to learn at once if you're not an experienced musician, it's natural to be confused.
I am not sure about references, I would watch a ton of "getting started" videos and start with basics...

Thanks D-One; When I say browser I am referring to the browser in the Maschine software. That’s interesting you can see the files I can’t. But I can’t work out why. Thanks for confirming that you can see them in your Maschine software browser. I’ll keep tinkering

chris, have you scanned your library from within maschine software when all expansions and stuff got installed?...
and are all expansions / libraries installed in the same path where you pointed native access at?...
