Hi folks. I'm pretty new to Maschine and use a Maschine Jam controller.

I would really appreciate some tips on arranging my sounds/scenes in 'Song Mode'. I'm having some 'beginners trouble' in arranging my sounds. For example, and using the below screenshot with 10 bars as a reference, when I insert a sound from group B1 to start at Bar 3, it will also insert it from Bar 1. Also I may want to insert a sound from Group B1 that starts in the middle of Pattern 2 on Group A1 (start of Bar 4), but it will get inserted again at the start of Bar 1 and Bar 3!

Basically, I'm having difficulty getting the hang of where to click, where to select, etc!

Once again, I'd really appreciate some tips for a complete novice like me, and/or links to a video of someone going through these steps methodically.

I've created some really nice loops, keyboard riffs and drum patterns, but when it comes to arranging them in Song Mode, my lack of skills let me down. ;)

    Thank you.

    Martin.

It's not your lack of skills, it's the lack of a decent arranger in Maschine software.

Maschine takes a while to get your head around, but a lot more is possible than you might think at first. Freely moving clips around the timeline, alas, not yet.
My workaround is simply as follows: when my drum pattern is 2 bars (as it is in your example) and I want my lead to start halfway the first bar, I make sure I make a lead pattern that is also 2 bars and then play it in, begin playing halfway the first bar. Maschine makes all patterns in a scene the same length, by doubling shorter patterns until they have that length. In some scenario's that is quite useful.

Here is a video that helped me a lot with arranging scenes into a song.
