    Arturia ARP 2600 anybody?

    Hi,
is anybody succeeding in using Arturia's ARP2600 *VST* plug-in within Kore2?

I'm having troubles with it: Minimoog, MoogModular and CS80 from the same vendor are doing fine either AU or VST, but ARP2600 shows up only as AU, whilst it doesn't appear at all as VST (plugs rescan done twice).
No problems with Cubase4, instead: it's there up and working (no AU there, of course).

    Anybody else?

Hi, I'm using the ARP2600V VST on Windows successfully. My installation files seem to be in a bit of a mess though - I have a feeling (although I can't remember exactly) that I had to move the instrument .dll from Arturia's Program Files folder to my C:\Program Files\VST Plugins folder.

However I can't run ARP2600V in standalone so make sure you backup your files before trying anything like this.

    ?

Why can't you run it in standalone?

You shouldn't have had to move the .dll; the installer let you choose your plugin folder as well as the standalone folder.

Another Windows user here; it works fine on my machine. Any Mac users ready to chime in?

I'm not 100% sure to be honest! It's almost certainly because of moving around the .dll - I reorganised my \VST Plugins folder at one stage with subfolders to reflect what type of plugin was which, & I suspect that could have caused it.

I only really use ARP in VST mode anyway though, so it's not a huge deal for me thankfully...

Thanks to both for replying: this gives me the opportunity to mention I'm on Mac OS 10.4.11, which I forgot to say earlier.

BTW, I just dowloaded the free host VST-Lord, with which the ARP2600 works perfectly as well as within Cubase.

And you are running the latest version, I presume (1.2)?

I haven't heard of any issues with the Mac version of 2600V until now; let me check.

I don't know if this can be relevant, but after the installation, I noted that the 2600's VST plug-in icons (both for the Vi and the Fx, and both of them won't load in Kore indeed) are the generic ones, and not the typical Lego-brick like. I did a complete reinstall with no success.

I think I see the problem. Rozling was on the right trail- the plugins aren't automatically updated (sorry about that, rozling). Copy them over from your application folder...

    http://www.arturia.com/evolution/en/downloads/updates.html

Oops- that's Windows only. I'm stuck. And, I can't see anything like that in the bug list. Try contacting support.

No worries, I learned about the 1.2 update so I'm good :D

I'm no good when it comes to Mac I'm afraid. Sorry we couldn't fix it Tical, the only other thing I would suggest is if you have restructured your plugin folder (moved the .dll) since installing ARP2600, try moving it back to the folder in which it was originally installed, which would probably be the root of your VST Plugins folder.

With a Mac, I don't know if that's possible (or helpful). There's only so many locations that VST plugiins can be on a Mac running OSX, and Kore automatically scans them all.

    Indeed.
I'll try contacting Arturia and let you know.
    Hey, thanks again!

Hey, I've been working with Kore for a few years now and have never really run into many problems, but this one has me scratching my head. I purchased the Arturia ARP 2600 yesterday, and am having a few problems with it in kore:

    1. Similar to issues Tical mentioned in an earlier thread, I too am unable to see the VST versions in Kore 2, but they show up in other hosts. My AU's load fine. No big deal really but kinda weird.

    2. I CAN NOT SEEM TO MAKE ANY CONTROL ASSIGNMENTS! I make a new user page, hit the learn button, move the knob i want, then open the plugin window and try moving sliders but nothing happens! I've done this many times before with my other plugins successfully but I must be doing something stupid here...the ARP 2600 loads into Kore with 2 EA user pages already but these can not be changed using the Learn button either. Any help would be GREATLY appreciated

btw, i am running Mac OS X 10.4.11 if that matters.

    Welcome =)

That's weird; it's working here with the 2600V (but I'm on PC).
Are you running the latest version of the 2600V (1.2)?

    It works fine here too.

My main gripe is with Arturia and not being able to batch import their sounds.

(exception I believe is the Jupiter 8 but I don't believe that works yet. At first release Jupiter 8 wouldn't even work with KORE and would cause a crash)

That's a pity. I love ARP very much and would burn to have its presets imported into Kore. (The ARP's preset management is not so very comfortable. You can't search or manage them, it gets tiring to browse through some dozen banks).

Keep in mind presets can be imported into Kore....one preset at a time of course... Just not BATCH import.

Yes, thanks. But those ~500 presets make some boring hours of importing. I do not complain here, Kore is great, and the fact that batch import works for so many plugins is cool indeed.
Maybe there's also a good side to it: I could use the one-by-one importing to review (relisten) all presets, update my inner "audio archive" and get new ideas. Sometimes the limitations are in fact what makes creativity.
