AU not working at all in logic

All the other bugs aside, can someone clue me in to as why Reaktor 4, with both of the small updates or without will not load as an audio unit in Logic 5.5 , 6.0, or 6.1. and what I can do about it?

I have tried both my current system and also a virgin install.

I think I have been pretty patient.. Can someone please reply as to why the simple AU plugin for Reaktor 4 does not work in Logic?

I somehow thought I would receive a little better service then this.

I know there are countless problems, but like I said earlier, ones that prevent the program from even starting should be a priority.

rick, please give some info on your setup. os version, hardware, drivers etc.

 

I'm running Logic Audio on a iBook. Works fine for me, generally speaking. Crashes sometimes on selecting snapshots and when using a Ensemble modified within Logic on saving. Unfortunately, editing parameters counts as modified here.

What do you do outside of Reaktor? Where might I have seen your name before? The max-msp list maybe, or sc-users?

Dual 800, 1.5 gig ram ,Digi PCI Expansion chasis, PCI 424, PTHD3, 2nd ATI vid card, Adaptect 2960 SCSI, Griffun G4port. Dont think anything else would matter.. There is a second internal HD in there but I havent a clue what it is. OS is in the crash log, Jaguar 10.2.6. Drivers? No idea... arent the drivers all kernel based now? Would be whatever you guys, Digi, MOTU and Emagic like to throw in there.. Nothing remarkable otherwise.

Not to sure, anyone that knows me is definately into the obscure scene. =) I have done somewhere around 200 dance records / remixes, but my name was'nt on too many of them. Used to do stuff for Sasha, BT, John Digweed, Kimball Collins, Kristine W., various others. Most neon light thing I was involved in was writing songs and producing for Dido.





I toyed around with the bootleg versions of Reaktor 3 (PC) for a while just to see what it was about but I felt it was far too buggy and disorganized to use yet, so I got pretty psyched when R4 came out and jumped right on it. Now of course that makes me the sucker, since R4 is far from useable in my opinion (for production work), and I paid for this one. However I am a big fan of NI and bought just about every other thing they make, so Im giving them a little time to get this sorted out. I am however also annoyed that the two programs I use most (FM7, Battery) are at the bottom of the OSX / AU conversion list.

I have enough to deal with the whole OSX conversion, and Logic being a slow ass bugger on screen redraws with a 10 minute 48 track tune.

So, Bitcrush... Help me sort this out please, before the 970 macs come out if possible. Thanks

 

Hm.. I'm dead clueless when it comes to dance music and the like, so maybe I'm thinking of something else.

Of course if you ever did any noise/electro-acoustic releases maybe I'd of heard of you.

Sweet deal on the Dido though. My girlfriend's mother is quite into her I believe (as well as my own mother actually, haha).

Are you trying to load Reaktor as an FX or an instrument?
As an FX, it's been known to crash logic. As an instrument it's working but very unstable.
Does it work well in stand alone work?
Right now, what I do (It's shitloads of more work, but I have no choice) is export reaktor loops, and then reimport them to logic/ live/ recycle them to reason.
And btw, this release is almost unusable in osx.

 

Im sorry, I just realized from Xovael's post that I was not clear about the problem..

Logic will not boot.. It crashes on loading while trying to process the fact that the Reaktor 4 AU is in the plugins folder. This is both if it is in the user or system plugins folder. As soon as I remove the Reaktor 4 component from the plugins folder Logic boots fine.. Put it back in.. Crash.. This is the case on both a virgin install of OSX 10.2.6 and a virgin Logic 5.5, 6.0, or 6.1. as well as my production system.

The crash log from Logic that I posted clearly lists the protection fault with ReaktorAU in the error message. Again, this is on trying to boot Logic. Not when trying to open Reaktor from inside Logic, which cannot be done since Logic wont boot with it. However when I convert the Reaktor 4 AU to a VST plug, Reaktor 4 works and logic boots, but since this introduces graphical glitches with the mouse being about an inch above the display I dont really want to tolerate this since Reaktor 4 supposedly has been ported to AU.

 

Don't have the solution yet, but I experience the same problem, both on a 1GB Powerbook and a G4 Dual 800 desktop, although, for some reason, Logic on the Powerbook actually finishes starting up once in a while, even with the Reaktor component folder installed and it then works just fine. No such luck though on the desktop.
Have all the latest versions of all software installed.
Let's see who knows how to fix this

 

i came along a logic 6 bug. when you load old enviroments you get into trouble...you have to build all your audio enviroment new on osx...thats pretty shitty..but i can load reaktor than...a song i saved in logic 6 on os 9 gives problems when loaded in osx...thats pretty shitty shitty

 

I believe Richard Dekkard is Harrison Ford's role in Blade Runner. I don't know if this Richard Dekkard here is a real name or not, but I have heard many of his remixes. To stay on topic, R4 works in LP 6.1 for me.

Reaktor AU crashes Logic...

Wow....I -now- have the same problem.
I have to remove the audio unit from the Lbrary->Audio->Plug-ins->Components folder to get logic to open.

The strange thing is my boot drive on my computer crashed a day after installing the quieter power supply provided by Apple -- thanks, you bastards!!!

Anyway, before the crash I was able to use Reaktor 4 in Logic as an AU. I was not able to use stand alone.
I re-installed everything from scratch and now i can't start Logic as long as the Reaktor AU is installed AND it still won't run in standalone mode.

C'mon NI, my patience is beginning to run thin......
